This is rebuilt traditional Japanese style village on hill (destroyed from mud slide). Almost every home change to shops and restaurants. One home show history of this village during mud slide disaster. Two home have traditional Japanese warm table and art show. Mt Fuji view is very beautiful.

Mt Fuji was covered by low clouds and that gave us a reason to drive up to the 5th Station. Winding road up with some hairpin turns. About an hour to reach the top. Several stops for photos. The 5th station is crowded with busloads of tourists. Very challenging for photo opportunities without having someone in the frame. Some parts of the footpaths are ice covered and slippery. My son slipped and fell, resulting in some abrasions on his knees. Visitors are required to leave the place by a certain time, so please plan ahead to have ample time for photos and also to enjoy the view.

This is a must visit place if you want to have the spectacular view of Mt. Fuji. The walkway alongside the center is planted with flowers, which bloom in Spring and summer. I went in Winter. It's smaller crowd and I could take beautiful pictures of Mt. Fuji. The official sightseeing bus runs in loops and has a stop right at the center. A souvenir shop is located inside the center where you can buy many kinds of Japanese snacks and skincare.

Due to COVID, hardly any people were roaming around @ 0900 on the weekday. Some serious photographers were there with their tripods & big cameras capturing the Sakura & Mt Fuji. Tranquil & beautiful ponds & trails!! Souvenir shops & a few places to buy food. Parking was close & free.

Really worth the bus ride to Mt. Fuji 5th Station. Great lookout views with plenty of opportunities to take pictures. There is a gift shops with a large varieties of souvenirs. We had Asian food for lunch there. Also snack and fast food available. Good memories and pictures! Something for a bucket list!

The station building at Kawaguchiko has many restaurants, shops, souvenir shops and the best part is the observation deck on the roof offering one of the best possible views of Mount Fuji. This place is not well known but highly recommended for the views.
