This facility covers virtually everything connected to air and space travel, including a host of knowledgeable volunteers eager to explain almost every aspect of the wonderful flying machines on display. Most of the air and spacecraft on display are inside huge buildings, yet many aircraft are displayed outside available to the cost conscious... FREE to look and wander the grounds. Even those wishing to get a peek of the massive Spruce Goose Flying Boat can take a look inside, have lunch or a drink at the inside cafe, browse the gift shop and buy a $6 ticket to view a special movie created on the history of air/space travel. Additionally, there is an enormous indoor water park on site. While it was closed on my visit, there is a 747 aircraft shell sitting atop the roof with water slides exiting the aircraft and dropping through the roof to the water park below. There are activities and unforgettable sights for all ages.

Yamhill Valley Vineyards

Yamhill Valley Vineyards is the oldest winery in the McMinnville AVA. We grow, produce and bottle all of our own grapes right here at the vineyard. Yamhill Valley Vineyards is located on a 150 acre estate in the rolling foothills of Oregon's Coast Range Mountains, one hour southwest of Portland in the Willamette Valley. The heart of our wine making is dedicated to Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Riesling. We have recently expanded our Chardonnay plantings and plan to release it to the public in the next few years. Since our first vintage in 1983 our wines have consistently won top honors in tastings and judgings across the nation. Our 1983 Pinot Noir was the first place preference in the famous Wine Center in New York City. From our beginning we have been stubbornly dedicated to the pursuit of a character that is distinctively Oregon and distinctively Yamhill Valley. Our goal is to bring forth from this unusual and exciting property the finest possible expression of its intensity, charm and uniqueness.

This is one of our favorites wineries to visit. Located just outside McMinnville, the winery offers a stunning view of the valley while enjoying one of their signature wines. This winery also offers up some lodging rooms which are well worth the money. Visit here, buy a glass of wine, then sit out on their deck overlooking the valley. You will love it! We had the pleasure of visiting Elizabeth chambers tasting room in mcminnville. It's just a short walk from the atticus. It's an industrial area but their outdoor patio is an oasis of relaxation. You walk in their front door and the room is huge... just like you'd expect in an industrial area. The weather was nice so we wanted to have our wine tasting out on their patio. I swear it's just like stepping into a garden. Ivy covering the walls... no real noise coming from the busy road... very pretty shade trees with patio tables scattered around. Just so relaxing. They bring the wines to you which is awesome. And the wines are delicious. Just a fun afternoon and when we come back to visit we will surely stop here again.

I hate swimming pools and water parks but this one is a lot of fun. Fairly clean, uncrowded, and well worth a visit. Visited on April 3 with a steep discount thanks to Groupon. The 9 and 12 year olds in our party had a blast running themselves ragged climbing 9 flights of stairs over and over to ride four rides which originate in the belly of a Boeing 747. Wear your Fitbit for a big surprise at the end of the day, even I climbed over 70 flights of stairs according to mine!
