March 12, 2022 Lashaunda Abraham

Maryland is known as “America in Miniature” because of its great variations in topography and culture. This makes it a perfect east coat travel destination for those who would like to experience a little bit of everything. From amusement parks, to beaches, to mountains and historical sites, there is plenty to see and do. Each region of Maryland provides its own unique and fun activities to do. If you're headed for some fun in the sun in Ocean City on its eastern coast, be sure not to miss the Ocean City Beach, the Boardwalk, or Trimper's Rides and Amusement Park for an all-ages fun experience. Central Maryland is home to a Six Flags theme park, the Annapolis Golf Club, and countless hubs of art and culture such as the African Art Museum and Annapolis Opera, Inc. Heading to western Maryland? It is perfect for lovers of nature and the outdoors, with the Washington Monument State Park, Wisp Resort ski slopes, and the spectacular Muddy Creek Falls.

I recently visited Perdue Stadium to catch a Shore Birds game on Monday. My ticket cost $3 as part of Fan Appreciation night. I also received a free hat The concession staff are friendly and competent.Ushers ditto. The team have a couple of all stars and one can wach them rise to the majors. The Shore birds museum is a great find and is free. WOW! Parking is only $4 and food is very reasonable.

We toured this museum, a lot of history to learn and it's in the inner harbor. The museum is very hands on, inexpensive, great family attraction. Lots to do while you are at the inner harbor. A must see, if you love black history.

We (mom and two teens) had loads of fun white water rafting here. I wasn't sure what to expect with a man-made course where you repeat the same course, but it was great fun. It seems that the rapids were changed up each time and our guide would also change up what we did so it didn't seem like we were doing the same course over and over (about 7 times in total). Weather wasn't very good when we were there so we were glad that we could rent wet suits and booties. Spend about 1/2 hour getting ready and instruction and 1 1/2 hours on the water.

Home to the AA Bowie Baysox, PG Stadium is well-designed and well laid out. Parking is easy and there are tons of food options. As with all minor league baseball, there are plenty of family friendly activities. The promotions can get very clever, like Star Wars day, fireworks, and celebrity appearances. Once a season, they become the Bowie Baysox and do a tribute to David Bowie.
