Just had an amazing morning with Lucas who led this tour just for me! We went to the swamp area as well as the seaside, where we must have seen 30 or 40 species of birds in total, pelicans, flamingos, herons, flycatcher and more. Lucas was very friendly and knowledgable. He had bird ID charts and bird call app but no binoculars. The visit was not far out of Lima and it was lovely too to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city.

After pick-up, you travel for about 45 minutes through a changing landscape until arriving to what was for more than 1500 years the main sanctuary of the Andean coast, the archeological site of Pachacamac. First, you'll have a look at the modern Pachacamac museum with various artefacts of the different cultures that used to occupy this sanctuary. Then, you'll explore this immense archeological site, which consists of the remains of more than 50 temples and other buildings. Afterwards, you'll head to a local community of artisans nearby. My girlfriend and I had the most amazing time in Peru, thanks to Natalie and her team at Alternative Peru. Natalie created a personalized tour for the two of us that showed us almost everything Peru has to offer- from the amazing food scene in Lima to Cusco/Machu Picchu and the ancient sites in the surrounding area, to world’s highest Lake at elevation- Lake Titicaca, and ending in the majestic Amazon. Natalie put together an epic trip that we won’t ever forget! It was great to have everything booked and planned for us which made traveling through the country so much easier. We loved that Alternative Peru shows you all the main tourist sites of the country, but also takes you off the beaten path, so you get to see how the real Peruvians live. One of our highlights of this experience is all of the local cuisine we got to taste- this is especially the case with our fishing/ cultural tour of Lima that we did with Alberto. This is a most do tour while in Lima and Alberto, was so informative. We couldn’t be happier with our experience in Peru and highly recommended using Alternative Peru if you are visiting the country.

In November 2019 I had a tour with Julio, and now I can say that it was my best sightseeing tour in the year. Julio is a nice guide/buddy, and this tour is very well organized. Julio picked me up by calling me to my room at the hotel front desk exactly at 9:00AM. During the tour we saw many places of Lima, including the local market, the historic center, Parque de la Muralla and Barranco District. Julio knows every aspect of Lima transportation system, so we were able to move between important places quickly and without traffic jams. The tour took 4 hours, and they were action-packed hours. You won't be able to finish early and in fact you will be a little exhausted after the tour. I recommend that you take this particular sightseeing tour and another tour outside of Lima. While this is a good tour, there is a lot places you need to see outside of Lima in Peru.
