Lapland Safaris Luosto

The tours was cool with a very good company, the class was also very informative. Although I would not recommend this tour due to the $$$ I do recommend this company for other tours. On the night of the tours there were no Northern Lights, not the company fault they cant control the weather. We ended up seeing the Northern Lights in our villa around 3 am.

Arctic Husky Farm

Reviewed By Sally W - United Kingdom

We visited as part of an inclusive trip with Canterbury Travel.
First we visited the Husky kennels which to be honest I didn't really enjoy. My daughter was a little intimidated by the large number of very noisy and smelly dogs.
The second part of the visit was the Husky Mushing which was fantastic. My husband drove, whilst my daughter and I sat in the sled. It was amazing being pulled through the forest by 6 huskies. The ride was great fun - my daughter describes it as the best part of the entire trip. I would love to do a longer run.

Amethyst Mine Lapland

In the middle of Pyhä-Luosto national park on top of Lampivaara fell in Lapland Finland is a sustainable amethyst mine where visitors hear fascinating stories and dig their personal lucky amethyst.

Interesting info on the geology of amethysts, a beautiful view, and digging for amethysts is strangely addictive. No one goes home empty-handed. It was a nice walk over from the hotel area and a good way to occupy a couple hours.

Kopara Reindeer Park

Reviewed By lesley2805 - Essex

we arrived here as part of a coach trip with Canterbury Travel on our search for Santa.
After we fed the reindeer, we were taken on a Safari pulled along in sleighs through beautiful Forests. It was a slow trek, so we were able to take in the views. They are such hardworking beautiful creatures. On our return, we were taken into the "classroom" were we learnt so many facts about the Reindeer and local area. Even the children found it interesting. Especially after Speedy Sam turned up, and Santa waved to everyone from across the field
Very nice way to spend a few hours

Luosto Adventures

Reviewed By Niels E - Oudega, The Netherlands

I went on holiday with my friends to experience the cold weather and the crazy amount of snow! We booked the safari's when we arrived in Luosto at their safari house and the people there were very helpful! They knew about the different Safaris and helped us to find what would suit us the best. We did Ice fishing (caught loads of fish, you go by sleigh which one of the guides is driving) and a husky safari by skidoo. The snowmobile driving was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday, driving around Luosto and surrounding area. The guides that we had with us were outstanding and full of knowledge of the local area. They stopped during the safari at some nice spots giving us a chance to take some nice pictures.
Thank you very much Luosto Adventures!!!

Luosto Ice Skating Park

Try ice skating or curling in the heart of Luosto on the beautiful lake Ahvenlampi! You can rent ice skates from us or bring your own gear.

Reviewed By Gareth B - Clayton le Woods, United Kingdom

My wife and I went to this ice skating park one evening in Jan. Antti is the man in charge and he is really helpful and attentive. We met some friendly Finnish local people who have us free lessons and a 'crash course' into ice hockey. High quality equipment including helmets and knee pads were included and a free hot drink. Ice skating on a frozen lake under the northern lights surrounded by beautiful arctic forest is something that would recommend this to anyone in Luosto. The rink is less than 5 minutes walk from all the hotels and is easy to find, just follow the lights and signs by the lake.

Arctic Horizons

Reviewed By Bluenose-Angel - Birmingham, UK

Pascal is amazing and we had the best day with him. So worth the money. We had a great morning ice fishing then a campfire, lunch and off for a reindeer safari. It was all totally safe, friendly, interesting, enjoyable and easy. My 8 & 9 year olds also loved it. Pascal is very knowledgeable, multi-lingual and a really nice chap.
Very highly recommended.
