Stelvio Pass

What a fabulous place to go. Named as the 7th or 8th toughest mountain climb on a road bike in Europe it’s worthy of its special position. We did it in snow and it made for an amazing adventure. Probably not very clever though on the way down. Watch out it gets incredibly cold on your hands and arms going down hill at speed. And yes we had every kind of top and under garment on! It’s just a killer! Watch out for black ice and be careful with the mountain tunnels! The views are fab but we missed it all due to snow and mist. But we enjoyed it still the same. An amazing adventure you’ll never forget. Enjoy!!

Marco, my instructor pushed me to be better than I even thought possible and even though I am not a daredevil, within a week I had seen a whole lot more than just the beginners piste. So if you wanna try out snowboarding, I can only recommend Madness Snowboard School and of course Marco.

A really must do. Road is narrow with lots of curves and with very nice views on the Garda lake. It is a one way street (as of this year from 10 am till 17 pm) when you climb, so normally you cannot have oncoming cars. (otherwise there are traffic lights). To get back you simply follow in the little village of Pieve at the round about the indications for Voltin, Vesio, follow that road untill you see a sign Limone to the right. So you will get back on the road around the lake.

Lecco's clock tower is the second highest tower in Italy and one of the highest in Europe. Now it's possible to visit it, in some days and only with reservation, thanks to the project that aims to revalue this monument. It will be a unique experience that will lead from the full of history basement of the tower up to the terrace on top of it from where you can admire a full 360 view of the city, the lake and its mountains.

We didn't climb this impressive tower, but we spent 3 days in this beautiful city. It makes a very good base for visiting Lake Como. We loved Lecco with it's lake promenade, gorgeous views, nice streets and buildings... This is a city where I would love to live.

Autodromo Nazionale Monza

Since 1922 up until today, memorable pages of motor racing and motorcycling history have been written on the Monza Circuit. The best drivers, the most famous cars, the most important events have created a special legend which has existed for almost 100 years. Autodromo Nazionale Monza is placed within Monza Park which belongs to the cities of Monza and Milan. Monza Circuit was built in 1922, in only 110 days, both for competitions and for motor (auto & motor cycle) testing (Brooklands was built in 1907 and Indianapolis in 1909). Since then, the Italian Grand Prix has always taken place on the Monza track (except during the war years and a few other occasions). The location of the Circuit in Monza Park, is unique in the world. This natural setting is both attractive and delightful. Its location favours the organisation of events and meeting in open areas for exibitions, entertainment and music and supported by internal structures, as a restaurant with 350 places, a 160-person self-service and 2 bars, one bank counter and one information office which are open during the main events. Moreover there are sport and technical shops and a specialized bookstore with international and rare editions. The park offers also other facilities as swimming pool, camping, 18-hole golf course, manège and bicycle rental.

Lesser known than the Monaco Grand Prix, the Italian Grand Prix at Monza is just as much fun. Italy is known for its sports cars and car racing, with Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, etc. Go a few days early and savor the history.
