Allentown Fish Hatchery

Reviewed By johnlefever - Longmont, United States

My parents introduced me to the fish hatchery as a little tyke and they continued this tradition by taking my kids there, I love this place. I used to drive my bike there from Emmaus as a teenager to get away from life. If you want to find some solace and/or listen to children's happiness, spend an hour at the fish hatchery. Go to the little house on the east end to pickup some fish food and enjoy the little museum they have, go for a stroll along the Little Lehigh River and the Lehigh Parkway, just sit and enjoy some tranquility. This is the epitome of an "off the beaten path" get away. If you have kids, it's a must.

Saucon Rail Trail

Reviewed By CourtneyT_13 - Hellertown, United States

The other day I rode my beach cruiser from the Grist Mill to the Upper Saucon Township Park. I went alone. Usually, I'm with my family, or taking the dogs for a long walk, but this time, I just hopped on my bike and went for a ride. Friendly "hello"s and gorgeous scenery, well-maintained surfaces and amazing golf course and backyard views, as well as water fountains, park benches for resting and bubbling creeks ALL added up to a delightful hour of "me" time. If you get a chance to come to Hellertown, do yourself a favor and take a peaceful stroll along our historic rail trail!

Allentown Rose Gardens

Reviewed By marienboys

In June of 2001, I lost my son Joseph shortly after birth. Lehigh Valley hospital had a program where at their expense you have the option of sprinkling your babies ashes there. If you ever notice, back by the one gazebo towards the stream is a plaque in the ground stating here lies my child. Some may feel uncomfortable with my decision, but for me there is no other place i would like to pay my respects to my son Joseph because he lies with beautiful roses, baby birds flying. Very comforting to me to visit him there. The only thing that is missing are the harps playing angel music. So next time you visit or visit for the 1st time know they are angels guiding over of of you. ????????❤

Beautifully kept park, with paved 1+ mile trail, wide enough for bikes and walkers (if only the walkers paid attention to the markings).

Had a great time at the Lost River Caverns . Walked through the cave of flow stone and enjoyed the beautiful cave formations. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the small museum of the cave and it’s history as well as the different mineral rocks. Nice gift shop. All staff was friendly. Enjoyed this tour.
