It has been open for nearly 10 years and is seen as one of the best climbing walls in the UK, renowned for it’s dynamic and gymnastic style climbing. I only started climbing at the beginning of the year and I am so glad it was at City Bloc. The staff at City Bloc are amazing! So friendly and approachable and are always willing to help if you are stuck on a problem. There is a great atmosphere and there is a great range for beginners, intermediate and experienced climbers.

Three of us did the Alice in Wonderland game yesterday. We were met on time at our given meeting place by our lovely games master Sophie and escorted to the secret location. Sophie gave us a comprehensive health and safety talk and introduced us to the game. We thoroughly enjoyed the game despite failing to escape (only just). Don’t want to say too much about the game itself and spoil the surprise for those who haven’t done it, but the clues were varied and some were quite challenging. We laughed at ourselves most of the way through the hour especially when Sophie had to give us clues. I liked it that the door we went into the game was left unlocked for safety reasons. Communication was via a television screen that, when not displaying requested clues, had a clock counting down the time left in the game. All in all - a very entertaining game, by a well run and professional games company. We’ll be back for more.

An excellent day out with Bob as our host - we played Lightning in a Bottle, which was challenging whilst being great fun as we worked our way through the room. We escaped, but only just, with a matter of seconds to spare! Highly recommended and look forward to returning to play the other games soon!

This was our first experience in an escape room and it won’t be our last one either. The first thing I will mention is the very high level of customer service that they have, I made the booking and made a mistake on it and they contacted me to make sure I was ok and then helped me corrected it. Now onto the actual day we were greeted by the team and meet our game master for the pirates treasure room and it was great, the high level of decoration and the difficulty level was perfect for a first time. Our game master Reece was excellent, walked us through what to expect and what he was able to do. This was for a birthday treat and has left us wanting more, we will be back and sooner rather than later.

We came once with the intention of trying something new then came again a week later with our family as we loved it so much. A simple concept of throwing axes at a wooden board, who knew this would be so much fun? after a brief demo by the staff, you are left to your own devices to lob real axes down an alley at a target with the aim of scoring the most points. Once into the swing of things, it gets quite addictive and the competitive element of going with someone else really adds to the fun. We managed to book a full hour with a voucher so it was very reasonably priced, and as mentioned, came back the following week for a second run. I would recommend booking in smaller groups to make sure everyone gets a good go at throwing.
