This is an excellent value in Martinique. The room was very comfortable with amazing views of the ocean and mountains. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always looking to go above and beyond. There is a beach and shops and restaurants all within walking distance (within 20 mins). We would love to stay here again when we return.

Arrived by cruise ship in February. Driver/tour guide was over half an hour late. Kept us waiting in the rain at the pier. Did not get off to a good start. Kept being told that he's coming by other staff of the same tour company. Tour was okay, only 5 of us in a mini van. Difficult to hear if you're seated at the back. With such a small group, no flexibility in the itinerary. It was on a Saturday and the whole town was closed. These small islands complained cruise ships not bring them any benefit but yet all shops were closed. It's difficult to spend money to help boost the economy if you do not open for business! The weather was terrible and was raining on and off all day, heavy at times. Both the tour company and the tour is not recommended and in fact, you may skip this island.

I can't praise Leslie Ferrati and Beyond the Beach highly enough! I've taken both the "Best of Southern Martinique" and the "Small Group Unmissable tour of the Ruins and Rum Distillery" with Beyond the Beach since I was fortunate to visit Martinique twice. Leslie is a consummate professional and extremely welcoming. The vans are new, air-conditioned, plush and comfortable. The vans are small intentionally holding 2-3 couples per excursion so we could visit a large number of wonderful sites. The large bus tours cannot move the tourists quickly, so they're very limited to stopping at just a few sites. Leslie and Miriam were both bi-lingual and very knowledgeable. The worst volcanic eruption of the 20th century, the Mt. Pelee volcano in 1902, killed everyone in St. Pierre, the largest city in Martinique, known as the Paris of the Caribbean, in 31 minutes. The sole survivor, Ludger Sylbaris, was locked in a prison cell made of stone. To walk through these ruins and have a peek into their history was fun and fascinating. In the van we were treated to fruit juices (with or without rum!), water and homemade cake. Once this horrible corona virus is over with I plan to visit Martinique again with Beyond the Beach.
