I love this place, very basic in every way. The menu is whatever was caught that morning by their own boat but normally involves Marlin, Sea bass and sometimes Tuna. The fish is fried with a light seasoned flour on both sides and served whole or as a fillet/steak. The punch is also delicious.
You come here because you want to eat fish caught a couple of hours before, as untouched as possible. If you only eat one type of fish or want a huge menu then the beach grill next door would suit you better - the food will not be cooked as well!

We enjoyed a very nice lunch here, even though they ran out of lobster. We were treated well and enjoyed our fish choices. The preparation is simple, but good. The punch was a bit thin, but the Corsican rose offered was excellent. I can't find fault with this beach bar restaurant.

Unpretentious, casual and good seafood. There is no menu, waitresses give you a choice of the catch of the day, marlin steaks, fried balahoo or crayfish are among the favorites. Accompanying dishes are rice, legumes and salad. And that's it. And the place is packed. The drinks are always the right temperature. Meals are served on long wooden tables and benches, set on a sandy floor with a view over the Caribbean.

The Restaurant is located at 1643 Carbet, a small village at the edge of the sea. It is one of the oldest houses on the island of Martinique, in a large park in the shade of trees. Christine, the owner, and Karine welcome you in a warm and cheerful atmosphere. Our Chefs are you a young and creative kitchen, cuisine with Creole accents and flavors. The 1643 Restaurant offers a shaded Terrace, covered, ventilated, facing the garden, for lunch or traditional dinner with family, friends, head-to-head. Flowers, colorful tablecloths and table runners are the restaurant's decor. In the evening a more intimate and romantic atmosphere is offered, with candles on the tables. The framework encourages relaxation and take time to savor the tasty dishes proposed by Alain. The service is fast and professional. The restaurant has a capacity of 40 seats. L'anse Latouche is 100 meters. A pleasant beach that you can go enjoy the turquoise Caribbean Sea, to whet your appetite.
Adjacent to the Zoo de la Martinique is restaurant 1643 (so called because it's the date of the original construction of the Habitation Latouche which has now become the zoo).
The menu and drinks list are on individual small tablet computers, which is fun to peruse.
The food looks good, but we were disappointed when it came to eating: two of the starters were not as hot as they should have been, two others were rather bland and lacking in seasoning. In the mains, a skewer of meat which should have been “medium” was somewhat under-cooked. The desserts were delicious.
The bill for 4 people came to €237 including 4 cocktails but no wine or coffees, which we thought was rather steep for what it was.

The Beach Grill was recommended by our Air BnB hostess, along with the advice to get an advanced reservation, which we failed to do, because we could not figure out how to make a call!! Regardless, we headed down to the beach hoping to catch the sunset over dinner and were surprised to find no restaurants open before 7:00pm. Forced to bide our time, we grabbed a couple beers from cool outdoor beach couches at the little bar next to the Beach Grill. When life appeared at the Beach Grill, I ran over and asked if we could get a reservation at 7:30pm which they gladly accommodated. They even had a waitress who spoke excellent English help us navigate the mostly seafoood menu. She made some excellent recommendations, such as the appetizer or little fried local fish. Overall, it was a nice local experience.

Stopped by for lunch on a sunday. First guest, but the restaurant filled upp quickly. Had live music and people danced ate and danced again. Very nice and genuine feeling.
We had crevettes creole, todays catch and entrecote. All of us very pleased with our dishes. Home made sorbet, made with fresh fruit from the garden, was outstanding. Would have gone back if we had stayed in the area

Alsatian food in St. Pierre, Martinique. We both had the chicken special which was excellent and inexpensive. Our host is multi-lingual (French, German, and English). He works hard to make sure all his guests are satisfied. Comfortable space on second floor across from harbor.

Nice and simple! Good food, the menu on a black board is different everyday which means the ingredients are fresh depending on market offer. Staff is really friendly ans the prices are correct. Creole food and french specialties. Perfect location on the beach of Le Carbet.
