A 4.7 mile pastoral route taking in the South West Coast Path by hay meadows and flower-filled chalk grasslands, with the possibility of seeing puffins, bats and even dolphins. The steep cliffs have been hollowed out by quarrying of Purbeck limestone, shot through in places with important fossils, and the route follows ancient lanes through crumbling stone boundaries dating back hundreds of years.

We walked roughly 10-12 miles along this coastline every day, taking in different areas and it was absolutely stunning. We hope to do it again next year.

Putlake Adventure Farm is a small family run business set in the rural village of Langton Matravers, Dorset. We offer a day of fun whatever the weather. Spend time in our large 3 storey indoor soft play area where parents can sit and enjoy a cup of tea knowing their children are having fun.Outside you can hold a Rabbit or Guinea Pig, groom a pony and bottle feed Lambs or Goats. There are also an array of other animals to see from Alpacas and an Owl to cute Chinchillas and Tortoises.Outside also boasts a wooden climbing frame area, sandpits and go karts to wizz around on.Coming in 2014 - Colouring room for those wet days, sand art, extended go kart area and a Hay barn.Putlake also has a lovely Tea Room (Poppy tearooms) serving warm soup, paninis and sandwiches. Indulge in a cream tea or a slice of homemade cake.

Friendly and helpful staff, had enjoyable tractor and trailer ride with Farmer Steve and kids got to sit in his tractor. Food in the tea rooms was outstanding and great value for money and excellent service. Kids enjoyed feeding the goats milk and grooming the pony and grandma enjoyed a conversation with Monty the talking parrot!!! Lovely large indoor soft play and lots of outdoor play areas. All in all great day out and great value for money.

This is a must-see place to visit if you are in the area. If you're walking the Jurassic Coast, spare an hour to walk down to the old quarry and admire the scenery. If you are up to scrambling down to the wave-cut platform (and up again) you can brave a dip in the pool. Otherwise grab a suitable rock to sit and take a breather. For those who want a shorter walk, you can drive to Langton Matravers and head to Spyway where there is an NT carpark (pay and display). It's a 40 minute stroll past the barn. Follow the signs for 'Dancing Ledge'. The return leg is quite steep but manageable.

Took our two year old. He loved the walk there, saw cows, sheep and horses on the way. As you get to the quarry there were also diggers and trucks which he was very excited to see. The footprints are really interesting and he enjoyed standing in them. You wouldn’t spend much time there it’s not very big, but great you can go and look. Just reading the other reviews re the walk. It’s not long about a mile slight incline getting there but nothing much. It’s mostly flat, we took a buggy. Our two year old pretty much ran the whole way and back. I would say a dry day that’s not too hot would be best. The car park has a map, you literally walk right from the car park. Turn first right and keep going straight through quite a few gates. You get to the quarry and keep going straight through another gate and down another path. Gate for the footprints is marked on the right. There were cows in the field you have to walk through.
