Quintessentially English

We have just returned from a weekend stay at Snoozums at No.11 & it was wonderful. Jacqui & Dave were superb hosts, very welcoming, friendly & helpful & the additional touches such as the handmade bath products & soaps waiting for us were a lovely treat. The accommodation was perfect, very comfortable bed, roll top bath & a delightful sitting room. The local fresh bread & breakfast basket provided was also a charming addition. Lacock village is one of my favourite places & is like stepping back in time, this was my 3rd visit to the village but first stay at Snoozums but, I’m sure it will not be my last, I would definitely stay at a Snoozums when returning to Lacock & can highly recommend.

Popped in on a cold December day looking for Christmas pressies and found a lovely warm shop with a huge range of different chocolates. It was so difficult to choose what to get as everything looked so tasty, but the friendly lady behind the counter gave us some pointers, and even a taste so that we could decide. They also do hot drinks to takeaway, although we never tried one in the end. While we were there the owner came in and we all found ourselves talking about the local area, where to visit, where to eat etc. We had a lovely friendly chat, I can't remember the last time I was able to chat to someone in a shop without feeling rushed out. I 100% recommend that everyone going through Lacock stops and has a look in that shop, I doubt they'll be able to walk out without buying something yummy!

Lacock Bakery

We are a takeaway, bake on the premises, bakery. We make real bread without any additives or preservatives. The National Trust specify that we may only use one table for customers to consume food which means they must either sit together at that table or buy takeaway food. We would like to offer more but 'rules are rules' and I hope that visitors will understand when we present them with a takeaway cup! To all our lovely customers, please keep visiting!

Tithe Barn

Reviewed By cullodenmist - Melbourne, Australia

This magnificent piece of architecture is one of those things that you have to see to believe... The caepentry and engineering within the ceiling is unbelievable, as is its history.... The barn is just another jewel within the whole town of Lacock... A must see for anyone who likes Medieval or Historical locations.
