We had no idea what to expect when Roberto took us on a sunset tour of the salt flats but it was beyond anything I have ever experienced. The vastness, the quiet, the sunset, it was like being on a different planet. Absolutely speechless. Roberto was a great guide and kept the fun up after dark with lights and cameras. Must be the highlight of my South America trip.

Apolobamba National Park extends from the Andean highlands to the verdant tropical lowlands of the northern reaches of the department of La Paz. Originally created to protect the endangered cameloid the "vicuña" the park is home to dozens of traditional and colonist communities. Among them are three villages in the highland region that have joined together to receive guests in their communities along a three day trek, named "PachaTrek." Visitors to this spectacular region will trek about four hours each day as they descend with local guides from the village of Qutapampa to the town of Charazani, the regional administrative capital. Each day you will be accompanied by locals and stay in comfortable lodges that they built as part of their initiative. You'll learn about the day to day lives of the locales, the traditional foods they prepare and the handicrafts and medicinal plants that are a living part of their culture.

Based on the great TA reviews we sought out La Paz on foot for a walking tour of the city. The only downside to the decision turned out to be that their office is almost impossible to find and the contactinformation on the website doesn't help. Weird for a company that furthermore offers absolutely excellent services! Luckily we phoned Milenka, the travelmanager, and from there on everything went smoothly. She told us the company had just moved and greeted us warmly in de lobby of their builing (7th floor of the California building om the intersection of Aspiazu and Ecuador). We decided to go for the Urban trek through the city of La Place. It doesn't visit the usual highlights of the city (easily done on ones own), but literally gives a different view of the city. Costs $25 each, but is totally worth it. Our guide the next day was Theresa. We were impressed by the sheer knowlegde she had of the history and current situation in the city. We went up to El Alto by the amazing cable cars, walked to a little museum, ate typical snacks before returning down by some steep steps. Then onto the famous markets. The tour lasted about 3,5 hours and was an absolutely great experience. Take the time to find their office, or let's hope they'll improve their contactinfo and you're in for a treat.

We booked a Localgrapher for a couples shoot in Arizona. The results were okay at best, and we regretted not seeking out an established local in the area. For the price, we received 60 very average choices and the ability to select 35 shots. We couldn’t even find 35 framed correctly. The localgrapher website is also a joke which requires a youtube video to figure out. The UI is terrible and the photos will disappear rapidly so do not wait to download (set aside a couple hours - that’s how bad it is). But really, just avoid. Hire someone directly.
