We have just returned from a 7 day trip on Meta IV with Burma Boating, and am still dreaming about it. We have done boating holidays before in Croatia, but nothing could have prepared us for the trip we had last week. The sun shone, the water is what we dream of and the Beaches empty, we only saw 2 yachts the whole week! What you aren’t prepared for is the sheer beauty of the place, it is so unspoilt, stunning Beaches, wonderful snorkelling. And lets not forget the crew, wonderful, charming, delicious food. Couldn’t recommend it more highly. If you want to get away from it all, where there is no phone signal, wifi, then go and do this trip. Its probably the best holiday we’ve ever ever had.

Mergui Archipelago located southernmost part of Myanmar compromises more than 800 Islands wrapped with sandy Beaches, and bounty of flora and fauna, and a variety of colourful tropical birds. Our Day Tour starts in Kawthoung which is close to the Thai border town of Ranong (300 km north of Phuket) and cruise to Myauk Ni(Red Monkey) Island.

Despite jaw-dropping Islands, it is not so easy to travel to the southernmost part of Myanmar called Kawthaung.It is located in Tanitharyi Division and known as Victoria Point. The first and foremost thing that can make you difficult is it is too far to go and it can cost too much if you spend your trip on the luxurious ship. It is much more expensive than when you spend your time at Vietnam Holongbay . Because of God's love and kindness of my friends I only need to spend $20 for this amazing trip. My trip is a solo trip as usual and I am the only one guest on the ship with four sailors and one sister who I met on that day. I stay three days on the ship happily in Kawthaung- South East Asia 's undiscovered germs.Some people are staying on the land and going a day trip to the Islands with the boat. First I went to Kawthaung with the plane and it took nearly three hours to reach there.It takes nearly three days when you are going with the bus. The people in Kawthaung are working in Casino, fishing and some are working in Thiland because Kawthaung is the border of Thailand. The air ticket prize အအအအအ Yangon-Kawthaung, Kawthaung-Yangon is $200. When I reached there it was still only 10 o' clock and the atmosphere was magical . When I was counting my morning walks, there were two surprises in Kawthaung .
They were Our Ancient King Bayintnaung Land(close at 8 pm) and lane to harbor. The first surprise thing is King Bayintnaung statue exactly look like the another King Bayintnaung statute from Yangon National museum. I hope the same sculpture made these statutes. The other surprise is King Bayintnaung holds the sword and looking at the other side of island (Thiland) with his aggressive eyes. At the other side of island , they have got a Chinese God statute called Kwanyin with peaceful smile. Finally people from Thiland tease us Burmese people are aggressive. Now it was time for our ship. I walked out of the town and passed the shipyard. Future along , I found some lovely ships and sailing boats. I was soon on board and the problem started to come at noon. It was raining and the wave was very big . I worked a lot before I came and ate a lot of food could make me sea sick. So I opened the door on board and took a rest. We passed the small other Islands called 'Ngar Lone Tan or PyinSadipar island'. After that we went to 'Taunglapot island 'that has crystal water. Spending my time with local is the most exciting things in my life . So I spent every night with four sailors listening to their stories and jokes instead of using stupid internet on the ship . I didn't use Facebook and posted my pictures on time. I knew there were even more pleasure awaiting me another day. The very next day my hero called Oscar @ Paing Soe Htet came out. But the funniest thing was he spoke very fast with different ascent and sometimes misunderstanding happened. That can make us laugh all the time. He was my snorkeling coast and my best photographer not only on the Islands but under water too. I always did kayak, snorkeling,diving and swimming with him. After that we went to 'Chin Kite island'. It was so beautiful island and you can see small fish in the crystal water. We did snorkeling in there. Under water camera is the best camera for taking pictures under the ocean. Mostly the company has got the big camera for taking the sea creatures. The isolated Islands are their iconic things for Kawthaung. After that we passed jungle walked and reached other side of the island and did snorkeling in the middle of the ocean. The funniest thing is I splashed the water and all of the fish run away at the very first day. They didn't let me to wear the flippers because the flippers made snorkeling more difficult if I didn't know how to use.I wore life jacket at that day. We went to '115 Islands .'The other names for these Islands are 'Sisters Islands '. The three Islands joined together and they are called 'Sisters islands'.Another Islands are 'Myaut Phyu island ' (ေမ်ာက္ျဖဳ),Thayay island ' (ေသရည္)and 'Myin Khwar island' (ျမင္းခြာ). We went there with our kayak and enjoyed the evening in there. After that we did camp fire on the island. Another island is called 'Zar Tat Hnat island (ဇာတက္ဌက္ကၽြန္း) that was the opposite side of 'Myaut Phyu island. ' I saw so many fish when I swam .In Myaut Phyu I saw three star fish.We need to be careful when we swam because some fish has poison and they were dangerous. Accidentally when the fish sting, you need to rub your skin with lime that can make you relief. The last I did snorkeling without life jacket and divided 20 times on the board in the deep ocean (at least 50 feet) . My amazing chef called Ko Myo Aung cooked different kind of food for me every day. Yan Naing Aung @ Ko Kayin who put Thanakhar (Myanmar traditional cream from the tree) also very helpful and considered me as his sister. The other man called U Moe the sailor who has got 25 years experience on the boat can make me happy. I loved talking with Oscar, cooking with Ko Moe ,the chef , teasing Ko Kayin and listening to U Moe's life experiences on the boat. The other Islands are 'Thahtay island where has casino in there. You can pass with the temporary passport because it has Thailand's boarder.The other Islands are 'Lan Peat island'(လန္ပိကၽြန္း) Athe Pone island , the shape of the island is heart shape (အသဲပံုကၽြန္း) and Nyaung Wee island (ေညာင္ဝီးကၽြန္း) . Long long ago people said that we cannot whistle or clap at Nyaung Wee island , Salone island and 115 island because it can cause a big storm in the ocean. In Kawthaung three has got the largest mangrove forest (လမုေတာ) in South East Asia. Salone people (Sea Gypsy)who can dive under water without oxygen tank is also a unique thing in island.It is located in Bo Cho island. The important thing is to save the environment and we cannot take big coral with the plane because it is unlawful. Before I went back I went to Mingalar Restaurant where can see Panorama of the town and enjoyed my dinner. Thanks for treating me delicious food. Other foreigners surprised me to come alone. I can prove that Myanmar people love traveling too. Though I didn't choose six days, I have got a fantastic three days trips on the ship and one day trip in town. I always said that 'The world is my home.'So the people in Kawthaung are my family members and I hope I will see them again. My 2016 adventure trip is over and 2017 adventure will come soon. Yippee I need to go only two more new places in Myanmar. Thank you Jesus and God bless Myanmar.It is not so easy to go with the children or if you are scared of water. The traveling season is from November to April. It can happen storm all the time because there has only two weathers that are sunny and rainy. The name of the ship is Mergui Princess.
Camp fire, fishing ,cooking, feeding egales snorkeling,kayaking,swimming,jungle walk ,island cleaning,28 to 31 December . I saw the big animals ' foot steps on the island. I am so happy to see the animals or water creatures move freely.

Our live aboard trip on Mergui Princess Cruise was priceless period. Crew are knowledgeable and gave us awesome service. Visited as part of a day trip from Ranong. There is not a great deal to see in the area. The statue is well maintained and there are nice views. The is an inscription in Burmese and English which explains the significance of this King.

Tourists doing the visa run to get another 3 month Thai visa come here as it is only 30 minutes by boat from the Raining Thai harbor.
Divers also come through here to get their special diving only visa permits before diving the Mergui Archipelago.
There is not much to see other than an old British era colonial Clock Tower and a market (closed Sunday).

This temple is somewhere in the region of 40 years old. It contains many Buddha images. The central part contains Buddhas representing your day of birth Monday to Sunday ( with two for Wednesday). There is a sacred Bo tree in the grounds which has come from a temple in Sri Lanka. They sometimes charge 20 baht for photography but didn't on our recent visit but there are offering boxes around to pay for the upkeep of the temple. The floor is smooth white tiles so on hot days it is really hot as the heat is reflected also be careful if it has been raining as it is really slippy. The temple dogs leave deposits everywhere so watch where you are walking in your bare feet.
