Kaunakakai is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaiʻi, United States. It is the largest town on the island of Molokaʻi. The population was 3,425 at the 2010 census. It has the largest port on the island and the longest pier in Hawaii. The town was made famous in the 1930s by the song "The Cockeyed Mayor of Kaunakakai", beginning an ongoing tradition of designating an honorary mayor for the town.

This place was once the alleged home of a mythical sea monster. This oddly shaped rock was a cave in ancient times and a giant octopus lived there.

Molokai Harbor

We biked to the longest wharf in Hawaii. Most of the deeper water activities originate from here. Beautiful view of the other islands and sunset from the wharf.

The one-hour trail leads to the base of Moa'ula Falls, a breathtaking 250-foot waterfall and is on a piece of private property.

I recommend going at high tide for the snorkeling, as the corals are in really shallow water. Nice scenic spot for a dip, or picnic. You can see Lanai and Maui from here
