Jarva-Jaani Firefighting Museum

Jarva-Jaani Firefighting Museum is built on the foundation of the rectory’s old stables and opened its doors to visitors in 1999. You will see the old flag of the firefighting union that was lost for 44 years, the new jubilee flag, photos, medals and diplomas in the museum.You can visit the Jarva-Jaani Firefighting Museum by appointment.Interesting facts:- there is a model of a two-storey wooden house in the museum where 27 different causes of a fire are demonstrated with the help of small fires;- you will also see the fire-fighters' carriage that was used in the film "Viimne reliikvia" ("The Last Relic"), one of the most popular Estonian movie of all times.

The village museum with a special exposition is located in the Village of Painurme, Jarva County. The exhibit covers 11 different topics. During the summer, you can visit the Painurme Local Museum on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as well as Saturdays and Sundays. The Aravete Museum is located in the former Kurisoo Manor, which dates back to the first half of the 19th century and has a front façade decorated with a classicist columned portico. The Aravete Village Museum opened its doors to visitors on June 9, 1989. The museum occupies 10 rooms and the attic in the manor house. The Aravete Village Museum is open to visitors on workdays, and at other times with advance booking. Interesting facts: The museum includes a fire fighting room, school classroom, teacher’s room, ladies room, radios and gramophones, televisions, Brezhnev-era room, and literature room.
