Very convenient, hassle-free way to get from central Medan to KNO. Note that there is a new train schedule (as of maybe Nov 2019). With the recently opened elevated train line through downtown Medan, it now takes approx. 30 minutes to get to/from downtown and KNO. There are no stops for traffic, etc now. Booking tickets at the station is easy, but note that this must be done with a card (or other means) - they don't accept cash payments for tickets.

I regulalry travel to Jakarta and now I am a regular user of this service. I am surprised it is not more popular. On time service is very good. The trains themselves are very clean and are in very good condition and are comfortable. Staff at the airport and Sudirman Baru station in the city centre are very helpful and efficient. Ticketing is easy via the app. Travelling from Sudirman Baru to the airport I allow 65 minutes from the time we leave toll time I pick up my boarding pass on average. On heavy traffic days in Jakarta this is very reasonable. For people who have business in the city center this is an excellent service. It is easily reached by cab or the adjacent mrt service ( a short walk although a dedicated tunnel would be better). This is one of the best transport initiatives in Jakarta.

We took the LRT from the Airport to the city and it was excellent. The airport has signs for direction towards the LRT station in the airport and the LRT station is VERY clean. The trains itself being brand new were VERY clean as well. There are staff who will help you for getting the tickets who speak good English so you will not have any problems communicating. The staff are very nice and helpful. Only downside is the LRT runs till 5pm ONLY. Wish it ran till 10pm then life would be a lot greater to travel around Palembang city. LRT ride from the airport to the city is IDR 10,000 ($0.70) and takes almost 45 minutes.
