Ullen Sentalu Museum

Javanese Heritage museum

Reviewed By stefanusw93

This museum located in Kaliurang and quite far from downtown Yogyakarta. However, it has exquisite exterior and interior building with natural design. It has lots of private collection from collectors that remark the Mataram and Ngayogyakarta Sultan. This museum is private owned, there for quite pricey for the entrance fees, but it's worth it. They also provide tour guide included with entrance fees.

Visited museum after returning from making visit to island in middle of large inland Sentani lake. Museum offered a special tour to our 50 person group in three older buses. Enjoyed seeing the giant carved wooden statues, skulls reflecting those who passed on, and stuffed rare local birds and animals. Museum has incredible gift shop.

Museum 10 November

An interesting monument and a great museum that commemorates and tells the story of the battle of Surabaya very well. It situates it well in the wider struggle for Indonesian independence, but the museum doesn't go into so much detail there, background knowledge helps. However it covers the battle in great detail, and has an array of information, photos, maps, dioramas and actual weapons used in the battle. Very friendly staff with great knowledge and a high level of English. They even approached me and asked if two new younger staff could practice their presentations in English, which is amazing to see, a great practice that shows how much they care about the museum and people's experience. Although they were young, once again their knowledge and English was amazing. The museum and staff rightfully take pride in showcasing a key part of Surabayan and Indonesian history.

Taman Prasasti Museum

Reviewed By MissGracie22 - Jakarta, Indonesia

Taman Prasasti Museum is very different with any other Museum. It's fully outdoor, the ambience brought us to back in 1800. Although it's a cemetary, but we didn't feel spooky at all. Very artistic graveyard, feels like in Europe at the summer time :) . Don't forget to bring your camera, or your mobile phone with great camera. There are a lot of interesting spot you can take shot. For the dress code, I suggest to wear white or black. It's very good for your photograph result.
