Harau Canyon

Reviewed By Bidule005 - France, null

We visited Harau canyon in August 2019. The landscape of the valley is beautiful with steep 100 meters high red-orange rocky cliffs. At the bottom, there are river, many rice fields with people and Indonesian buffaloes working in the fields. We also visited the Sarasah Bunta waterfall. This beautiful waterfall is located in the Harau valley nature reserve, and the access is very easy. This atmosphere of the site is peaceful, with a natural swimming pool. The landscape is also very fine with steep rocky red-orange cliffs, withn colors sparkling in the sunlight lights!!! Wonderful!!!

I like to walk in the water and up to the canyon, used the natural swing from the root of some trees is very fun. The beautiful view along on the canyon along the river is absolutely amazing. I liked also playing the stone and made some stone pagoda. Ad the end of the adventure I visited a mini zoo where i found some big snakes and beautiful birds to play with. Highly recommended.

Sianok canyon

Reviewed By Bidule005 - France, null

We visited the beautiful Sianok canyon in August 2019, that is located about 4 km far from Bukittingi. It’s a very fine valley with a river meandering and 100 meters high cliffs, with Singgalang volcano in the background. There are also typical villages. We visited Kota Gadang that is famous for silverware; there are also beautiful houses in the Minangkabau style and old Dutch style houses. A very pleasant area!

Brown Canyon

Reviewed By GeneralShamu - New York City, United States

Visited this place as I was coming from Wonosobo to Semarang. The place is a minerals mining site used for construction of buildings. You can walk around a bit, just don't be that person with the selfie stick, etc... that gets run over by a mining truck. It's not dangerous at all, one just needs to be aware of their surroundings. Next door is a garbage dump site where they burn all the waste. Don't stay downwind of that more than absolutely necessary given the fumes are carcinogenic.
