After the demonstration, visit their gallery where you can purchase beautiful weavings to remind you of your Ecuadorian experience. DIRECTIONS TO THE WORKSHOP: Option 1, from Cascada de Peguche: take the road from Cascada de Peguche (waterfall) to Lago San Pablo. At the top of the first hill, take a left toward Agato. At the first intersection (Agato's main street), turn left. The workshop is one and a half blocks down on the left. Option 2, from Quito: turn right at the Espejo stoplight. After you cross a bridge, take your first left toward Cascada de Peguche. At the top of the hill, turn right toward Agato. At the first intersection (Agato's main street), turn left. what an authentic & interesting tour of this traditional weaving workshop. we learned so much about these traditional work. the local guide showed & explained us every single step from the raw material to the finished product in great detail. and the family was so warm & friendly.

Loved this local artesian craft shop,the lovely lady owner showed us how they take the alpaca and lama wool and spin & weave the yarn, no pressure to buy anything. Hood quality local scarves,sweaters, hats etc at reasonable prices

The Cuicocha lagoon is located south of the city of Cotacahi, passing a town called Quiroga, you can go by car or hire a truck in the town of Quiroga, the road to the lagoon is paved and in very good condition, the trip From the center of the city to the lagoon it takes about half an hour and about fifteen minutes from Quiroga, once there you can see the huge lagoon from different viewpoints, formerly it was called the lagoon of the gods by the natives, it is a crater volcanic located at the base of the main mountain of the city called Cotacachi volcano, its waters are beautiful and of a dark blue in the middle of the lagoon there are two islets. The first islet is called Teodoro Wolf, and the second is called Jose Maria Yerovi, in these two islets there is a great variety of native flowers of the area such as orchids and mosses there are also animals such as ducks, rabbits and foxes. Gas bubbles emerge from the depths of the lake due to volcanic activity. There is an earthen path that surrounds the lagoon it is possible to walk along the path and it takes about 3 hours to go around the lagoon, in this path you will be able to see a large number of unique flowers of the province and if you are lucky any animal, I would recommend you going with a guide in the area because the path has many ways and you can get lost in the mountains, there are many activities that you can do in the lagoon such as the boat ride, It is one of the most incredible experiences of this visit, because you can observe the purity of its waters, and feel the cold wind that circulates inside the crater, you can also appreciate the vegetation and wildlife up close. The two islets are covered in 25 minutes. In the smallest there is a Virgin, vestiges of an abandoned inn and a path that can be accessed with permission from the Ministry of the Environment. Upon entering the place you will find some craft stalls with leather items such as: wallets, purses, belts, suitcases, shoes, clothing, among others, woolen fabrics and more. There is also an interpretation center located 200 meters from the entrance of the Cuicocha lagoon, it has educational information about the Reserve. In addition, there is an auditorium, in which environmental education talks are given; a small botanical garden, where you can appreciate the different species of flora that the area has. If you want to eat there is a small restaurant where they offer typical dishes of the area, they also offer you hot drinks after returning from the boat, the weather is very cold so I would recommend you to wear warm clothes when you go there, however it is a wonderful experience and a beautiful place, hope to return very soon.

A huge town square filled with stalls and a myriad of Ecuadorean arts and crafts adits you. Open 9 to 6. Went on a Wednesday afternoon. You can bargain...stayed just one hour . Long enough to find beautiful things, not too long to get overwhelmed.

This museum is small, it is also free. The main theme is leather and musical culture of the city. The street it’s on is closed off to traffic. There is also a beautiful white building next to it. It’s right next to the central plaza and church, you can’t miss it.

Ibarra is a beautiful place to meet and I recommend visiting Yahuarcocha with friends and family. This is a place to carry out different activities such as riding a bicycle, walking, riding in the boats or eating a delicious fish with potatoes, salad, rice, toast, lemon and juice. Yahuarcocha is a tourist place to enjoy with the family, you can go for a weekend with your partner to enjoy the beautiful landscape that Yahuarcocha has, you can also see birds in the lagoon. The boat trip is very fun if you go with your family you can ride in a large boat where you can pedal to move the boat, it is also very safe because all the people who go in the boats must wear safety vests. If you visit Yahuarcocha you can see the beautiful landscape, the birds, the huge mountains, the water of the lagoon, you can also see fish in the water that are swimming. In Yahuarcocha there is also a place for children as the little worm can get on and take the children for a walk that is very fun because the children enjoy the family outing, you can also take your partner for a walk if you do not have children. If it's hot you can go to an ice cream parlor where they make delicious ice creams of different flavors and different prices. I recommend you try the ice creams, they are very delicious and if they are with children they will like it. There is also space for children to play, they can visit the Yahuarcocha pools, they are also very beautiful. There are swimming pools for children and adults with a beautiful view, you can also see a small river and go over a bridge to go to the pools. I like to visit Yahuarcocha and I recommend you go.
