I attended this lovely little studio with my daughter as we wanted to give something different to family & friends as christmas gifts. We had a lovely warm welcome from Dawn & she showed us around her lovely little studio. To add the the lovely welcome we were given hot drinks & mince pies. The class was amazing & there was no hesitation from Dawn as to answering any of our questions or concerns about our pieces that we were making. She has a lovely calming persona & was very encouraging & very complimentary with the finished products that we had made. To buy hand made glass pieces in a shop would have cost a fortune but we made our own personalised decorations for a fraction of the price! Both my daughter & I were that impressed that we booked another session & made more beautiful pieces. I wasn't even aware that we had a studio like this on my own doorstep. Looking to book further classes for Easter ❤

Bennerley Viaduct

Reviewed By therichastill - Stevenage, United Kingdom

I had never heard of the Bennerley Viaduct until I saw Tim Dunn's tv programme about railway architecture. After a google search I was able to find it. Driving along the A6096 from Ilkeston there is a turning on the left for the kennels. There is a very small area to park. If you walk along the river you can see the viaduct through the bushes. Walk a little further an the bushes have been cleared and there is an information plate giving some history about the viaduct. I look forward to coming back when you can travel across it.

NatWest Hole

A one of a kind architectural masterpiece that draws visitors from near and far. Children love the novelty of this sight. A genuine landmark and Ilkeston institution.

Brilliant architecture, design and practicality. The hole has no bounds, one minute you’re crawling through it, the next you’re on the other side. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this landmark. We’re well travelled, but this one has topped them all with its interactive and charismatic design. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area. As a bonus we also used the cash machine. Natwest really are at the forefront of banking and art, so it would seem.

The Spanish Bar

Reviewed By T515XHsteves - Chesterfield, United Kingdom

Was at the Spanish Bar yesterday afternoon for a debut gig with my band - Rattled - a very friendly pub venue - looks like recently refurbished - everywhere was modern and spotless - a very well appointed outdoor area which was very busy on a lovely Sunday afternoon - staff were on hand to make sure we had everything we needed and the customers were all supportive of the band with many venturing inside for a boogie which we really appreciated considering how nice the weather was - lots of favourable feedback as we packed away from friendly customers out to enjoy afternoon - A great debut gig for us and we hope to return sometime. I Can't comment on the drinks as didn't have any - but looked to be a good choice of beer - my wife had a small bottle of prosecco and the barmaid asked if she was going to have more than one as cheaper by the bottle - a nice touch.
