A wonderful and personable tour which covered Gin and Whisky making in Iceland’s only distillery. Our tour guide “Rock” covered the brief history of the distillery very well with amusing anecdotes and dipped into Icelandic history and myths. A very well balanced tour and enough Gin and Whisky sampling to keep everyone happy! The whisky is in it’s infancy but it is a great starting point and I can’t recommend the tour enough!

As a local this is one of my favorite place to hang out and enjoy a beer or ten. I´s a little bit hidden and perhaps 10 min walk from the center of Reykjavik, but don´t let that stop you. What i love about this place is that this is simple about beer, nothing else. Don´t go there if you are looking for fancy cocktails or a dance floor. Go there if you love beer and and want to enjoy it in a super nice atmosphere. Siggi the owner is usually working himself behind the bar which is really unusual in the busy Reykjavik. There opening hours are a little bit unique from 4pm to 8pm. They do offer brewery tours as well which comes with a lot of samples. A must stop if you love beer and are staying in Reykjavik.

Dokkan Brugghus

Our micro brewery is a small family business founded in Isafjorður in Octorber 2017 merely for the purpose to make local craft beer and the Westfjords really needed one. Then our first beer was made in the early summer of 2018. The brewery is located at Sindragata 11 but that’s were all of our products are made.

We stopped by after a nice day drive and a tour of The Cave. We had the place all to ourselves for roughly an hour. Our host spent the entire time talking about the various beers brewed here - great tasting of a variety of brews then he took us on a tour of the brewery and explained their brewing process. The beers were excellent — no doubt owing to the soft glacial water used in their beer. Very happy we stopped by - highly recommend if in the area!
