Glacier Ridge Runners

Reviewed By 433bridgettem

My family of four (including two kids ages 13 and 9), along with our two adult friends rented a four seat and a two seat ATV for an 8 hour guided excursion. We had the BEST time! Cade was our guide and he was amazing! He went at a good pace and even helped calm our 9 year old daughter who started off a little scared of the ride. She ended up LOVING it! Her words on the final leg of our cruise back was "LET'S BOOGY!!!" Cade brought us around the Hungry Horse reservoir and let us get out and take pics at our leisure. He showed us hidden spots that we never would have found on our own. We stopped at an area and went on a small hike and ended up with the most fantastic pictures of waterfalls, rivers and beautiful scenery. Cade was so helpful with our group and especially our kids. At the end of our week in West Glacier we asked the kids what their favorite activity was (and we did a lot!) and they said it was the ATV's. I also want to give a shout out to Taylor in the office who was fabulous getting us all set up and answering our questions on the phone prior to our rental day. She was so friendly and very knowledgeable. Hands down I would recommend renting the ATV's here and requesting Cade for your guide for the day. Amazing experience we will never forget! Thank you Cade, Taylor and Glacier Ridge Runners!!

The first we saw when we parked our car, we saw a horse and two bears (Not living). We decided to get an ice-cream and my wife took afreezy. We decided to eat it outside. My ice-cream was delicious! Inside the Willow's Huckleberry Land, there were lots of souvenirs, clothing and way more. Worthwhile to see!

Hungry Horse Reservoir

Reviewed By CATTSAR - Provincetown, United States

Even in heavy snow this was still a spectacular stop.  At the stunning height of 564 ft. (172 m) it towers over the South Fork Flathead River. The length of the dam is 2115 ft. (645 m) and provides for great photo ops. The dam was finished in 1953 with cutting edge features at the time. One of the most notable features is the Morning Glory spill way, the highest of its type in the world. While the main uses are hydroelectric power, here but down river as well, flood control is another important function. The reservoir serves as a great recreation area for camping, boating, swimming, fishing and many other activities. Jewel Basin is adjacent and offers some of the most incredible hiking anywhere. This time of year the road past the dam, West Side Drive, (NF 895) is not maintained and may be difficult even with four wheel drive. The closest supplies are in Hungry Horse. Carry it in~ carry it out!!
