We stopped here for lunch on our way to Glacier National Park. It was getting toward the end of the season and I got the feeling that the waitress was tired of seeing another tourist. Other than that minor problem, the burgers and fries were excellent.

We enjoyed this place so much, we came here for breakfast twice! Cute place with everything purple and very friendly service! Good prices too.

We had huckleberry pancakes, eggs and bacon and it was delicious. Great coffee too in fun purple mugs which you fill yourself.

I loved the mug so much I brought some home with me so I could always remember Hungry Horse MT.

What a find!! Little place attached to a convenience store and worth the wait, if needed. All the food is super fresh, hand made and the portions are generous. Locals eat here so you know it's good before you even taste the food. Our serving person, Fran, was so cute....a must stop for breakfast or lunch, enjoy!

Three Forks Grille

Reviewed By LP1247 - Rhinebeck, New York

This restaurant came highly recommended to us by a local fishing guide we had spent the day with. We researched the menu on their website and it sounded like there were options for all of us. When we arrived, the restaurant was not very busy but we were kept waiting for someone to seat us. Once seated we should have know right out of the gate that Three Forks Grill was not a good choice. When asked to split the check, the server very abruptly said "We don't split checks." Really? I travel a lot for both business and pleasure and it is very rare that a restaurant won't split a check. It probably wouldn't have been an issue if he had been pleasant about it but he wasn't! Moving on, we noticed that the menu provided was entirely different from the one on the website. When asked about it, we were told the menu changed 2 days prior. Ok... understandable that restaurants refresh their menu choices periodically.Hint #1: Make sure your website and in-restaurant menus are the same. I had been looking forward to their "Sage Creek Chicken" I saw on the website. However, the entree by the same name had an entirely different preparation. Hint # 2: If you are changing your menu, might be a good idea not to use the name of an old dish for the "new dish". When asked for a recommendation on an entree, the server said he wasn't familiar with the new menu. Hint # 3: Make sure your servers are familiar with the new menu offerings. If they are not, there is no reason for a server to be rude. Hint # 4: Have the "rude" server offer to get someone who is familiar with the new menu to make recommendations. So the entrees finally arrive. Two of the entrees were "adequate" at best, the short rib/bison over pasta was overly spicy, even for my husband who loves spice! My "Sage Creek Chicken" was good, but was served in a dish chipped in 2 places? Really? I wonder what the Montana Health Department would say about that? When brought to the attention of the hostess, her attitude was "I'll let the kitchen know"... Not what I would have expected. Hint # 5: The kitchen should NEVER send out a meal or drink with a chipped vessel! Oh, and Hint # 6: How about a sincere apology from the hostess. I should have just sent the meal back. One in our group ordered the pumpkin soup which turned out to be more like a stew (I thought it looked very unappetizing!). Had the waiter descried it properly to her, she would not have ordered it.(Lack of familiarity with the new menu perhaps?) After the table was cleared by the hostess, the waiter suddenly appeared, supposedly to ask if we wanted coffee or desert (I guess he didn't realize that we could see that he had the bill behind his back. As soon as we declined coffee, etc, he whipped the check out from behind his back), put it on the table and walked away. Hint # 7: Don't show up with the check until you know your customers are finished and ready for it! In addition to all my previous comments I know that it it very "in" to have unusual flavor pairings. That said, it apperaed to us that every item on the menu had mu;tiple food flavers. Sometimes a little simplicity goes a long way for a well prepared meal/ Lastly, we were seated near a large group who were very loud and inconsiderate of other diners. As we were finishing some other patrons arived and were standing near our table having a very energetic (I am being polite) conversation that could have been had in the bar area or elsewhere... certainly not where others were trying to enjoy an evening out. So all in all, our experience at Three Forks Grill was one that would cause us to NEVER return. I'm sure there are other better places to enjoy a meal in Columbia Falls.

OH MY GOSH It was fairly late, other places were closing, and we just barely got into this deli. Are we ever glad we did. The sandwiches are HUGE, much more than either of us could finish. (Ah, lunch tomorrow.) We sat out enjoying the evening, and the cutest little black bunny came wandering out from under the porch. We watched it for quite a while. Went back two days later for more excellent food. You simply cannot go wrong eating at the Elkhorn Deli.

This is a great stop on our way back home. We have purchased Huckleberry jams and candy while in Montana before and we made sure we stopped in before returning home. This was our first time at Willows and the selection and prices were very good. We tried the BBQ sauce on some steaks when we got home and it was different but good. Friendly staff and owner and when we are in the area again we will definitely try the pie and a milkshake. A great spot to purchase all your Huckleberry goodies and T-shirts etc.
