Well this time when we(me & my fiancé) planned to come to Maldives, we wanted to overcome our fear of deep sea water and the only way we could do that was by doing scuba diving with some professionals. We are not good in swimming at all so we thought it will become more challenging for us as we don’t even know the basics, however we were quite determined. That’s the time when we approached to Dune Dives Maldives and informed them about our fear. Mr.Laurent executive manager & a professional scuba diver, welcomed us & explained each and everything about scuba diving. They fed our details into the system so that we can record our dives in future as well. We started with theoretical training sessions(not more than 40mins) and then they took us to practice the same close to the sea shore with all the equipments on. It was really difficult for us to overcome our fear of water, however Laurent and Maggi(professional sea diver) never gave up on us. In the beginning we wanted to quit and go back, however they didn’t give up on us and always motivated us. I remember him telling me that it’s ok to have fear but this is the time when in reality we can overcome it, so lets do it together. Anytime we did learn something they really applauded it as we have achieved something, which really gave confidence to us. So we(non-swimmers) who started from shallow water went upto 2-3mtr deep water with their motivation, to practice and to get accustomed to the water environment. During all those practice sessions they never left us alone and were always with us, this makes us feel comfortable with our fear now. I still remember when we were practicing with our equipments under water, they always used to clap and tells us that we are doing great, which actually kept us going to enjoy the scuba diving now. So after this practice session with a small break of 2hrs we were ready to dive into the sea & explore the sea life. We went into the sea & stopped next to a reef. Until now Laurent & Maggi has turned us from non-swimmers to first time scuba divers. We dived into the sea holding their hands and after some time as we got comfortable under water, they let us swim alone, however always being next to us. I can never forget that we came across two sharks & so many other fish schools during our dive. It was a beautiful world out there to explore. We went close to 6mtrs during our dive and it was once in a lifetime experience which I can never forget. We must & highly recommend Dune dive Maldives to everyone & even the first timers like us, as this all happened just because of Laurent & Maggi, so even this 5 star review can’t justify the efforts that they put on us to take a lifetime experience from Maldives.

So far I´ve been to Maldive Victory twice, first as part of my Advanced Open Water course in August 2012 and then as a Rescue Diver in January 2013. The cargo (which most sources say is 110 meters long) sank in 1981 and you can still find old rulers, stereos, cassettes, photo albums, etc. I´d say that most of the time you´ll want to be at a depth of 20 to 35 meters. The wreck is incredibly close to the airport island of Hulhule and just a few minutes away from Male´. Sometimes the visibility isn´t that great and there are strong currents, but it´s still a great spot to go and see.

ttok from Male airport to Thoddoo island and back, Boats were nkce and clean and moved pretty fast. sure beat local ferry only thing important to know is they do not run at least friday From Thoddoo except 7 Am so if you have as i did a sat 9 :30 AM flight you have to,be off Thoddoo by 7.

We just returned from our 15 day cruise(24 Feb-10 Mar 2018 ) , of which we spent 4 days in the Maldives. I found Secret Paradise through Tripadvisor reviews and what a great choice. I started liaising with Ruth a few months ago & right from the outset I had a great experience. A few options were put forward after I shared our objectives & all our expectations were met. Ruth even tried to arrange our sea plane trip & underwater scooter trip , which was on our bucket list. Our ship docked about 1km offshore & instead of leaving Male' on excursions the guides met us at the airport as the ship tender only went to the airport , this just made it easier for us. Our first excursion as we stepped off the plane was a 4 hr walking tour of Male' with Kokko. We were kept up to date leading up to the visit due to the state of emergency but there were no problems during our 4 days. Male' is not big but Kokko made it interesting & we visited most of the key sites & due to this tour we were able to find our way around when we returned on our own. Tour included some water a visit to a restaurant.
Our next experience with Secret Paradise was a day trip to the Northern Islands of Himmafushi & Huraa. This time we had Mashir as our guide. We did walk around tours of both Islands visiting boat yards , some fish factories & some souvenir shops. We were able to sample some fish products. On our way back we did our first snorkel at Stingray City , what an awesome experience swimming amongst all the stingrays , not dangerous at all & Mashir was in the water with us all the time to ensure we were safe & as an experienced scuba diver he took some awesome photos by diving a bit deeper to get closer to the rays , thanks Mashir. Lunch was also included.
Next on the agenda was a snorkeling trip of 2 hrs once again with Mashir. We visited a couple of sites & did a 2nd visit to Stingray City which was even more awesome than the first time as there were more rays & the sea also a bit calmer , visibility was also very good , which it is mostly in the Maldives. Also saw a few eels , was like swimming in a rather large fish tank. Thanks Mashir for 2 great experiences.
The last trip with Secret Paradise was a day trip to Southern Islands of Gulhi & Maafushi. Our guide for the day was Maahee. Did walk around of both Islands also visiting the boat yards & some other points of interest. Also had a good lunch on Maafushi island before heading out for some snorkeling , where we saw a few stingrays , a nerve shark I think it was & a turtle. Always awesome in it's natural environment. Maahee is really like a walking encyclopedia re some of the history of the Maldives.
We managed to meet Ruth briefly & you cannot go wrong with Secret Paradise , they can arrange accommodation & basically anything you want to have an awesome holiday in the Maldives. They were very professional , guides knowledgeable & they are very flexible to meet their Customers needs. Thanks Ruth & Team for a great experience.

If you are on maafushi island you will not miss any of its attractions since it is so small . You will anyway find them even if you are not looking for them. This one is good one in the middle of the island.

This is a no-bs dive shop where they really know how to make good things happen.
I have never had a dive shop respond to my inquiries with so much great information about their services and sites. I was impressed from the get-go.
Yasmeen is very flexible and amazingly helpful in organising trips.
Although being in Hulumale, the accessible dive sites are limited, Ocean Junkies will make the most of them. The dive staff are professional, yet relaxed, and the rental equipment is well-serviced. Also, they have the most well-kept and newest compressor I've ever seen.
Can't wait to get back to do more excellent diving with these lovely people.

Visited Male' city a few days ago & one can't help but notice this mosque , especially from the sea with the large gold dome , very impressive. The structure from the outside , front area , is also very impressive , neat and clean area. Some parts of Male' not that clean. Never went inside , found the outside & surroundings suffice.

This trip was absolutely amazing! We were 8 people in total, 2 per room. All rooms have bunkin beds even for couples. 3 rooms had a small bathroom inside and 1 of the rooms the bathroom was right next door from their room. In my view, Hulhumale Mosque is one that is on the "must see" list. The mosque is located within a kilometer of the hotels that front Hulhumale Beach so it is easy and simple to find. It is distinctive with it huge golden dome and the tall minaret next to it. The building is circular and quite large with open windows (and fans) around its perimeter. The interior is a large open space with worship/prayer areas set apart for women too. While I visited, several worshippers were present with many praying and others studying. It was a very comfortable and uplifting visit. My travels have sparked a love for Muslims around the world.
The mosque is set within an urban park with many shade trees that complements the serenity of a visit. I especially liked the park benches that had colored tiles as the sitting surface. The back side of the mosque had a set of windows with a structural overhang that reflected the afternoon sun in vivid blue strips of color on the windows and white wall. It was an interesting effect.
