We really enjoyed touring the castle grounds. Parking is available and free. You walk in a ways and buy tickets before going up to the tower which houses the museum. The museum houses a great collection of samurai armor, Japanese scrolls, Dutch drawings, and models of the city. They even have play armor for kids to wear for photo opportunities. The views from the top are beautiful. You can see down into the harbor and into the surrounding mountains. This is a must in Hirado.

Brought my family here for a day out. Wind was somewhere around 40 knots which made it a little more fun. The view was amazing from the lighthouse.
