Shell Beach

Reviewed By daleboy2019 - Bristol, United Kingdom

A beautiful beach of soft light sand, which extends across the northern coast of Herm island. The water temperature was still somewhat cold during my visit, but waters are clean and crystal clear. The beach has a gradual incline and reaches about 1.5m depth around 100m out at low tide. Be careful as there is a slight rip current where two waters meet on the eastern part of the beach where there is a sand spit protruding into the sea; it may be unsafe for small children. Overall a great experience

Belvoir Bay Beach

Reviewed By JusKeepSwimming

This is an excellent bay and beach, has a Cafe and toilet which aren't open off season. What I found really interesting is that in low tide you can go to the adjoining beach stretch towards the right, which is mostly otherwise isolated, which is mostly pebbles (excellent for round ones !) and some sand. We visited in April and found a lot of bird activity in the cliffs above and on the beach (worth bringing your binoculars !). We caught view of some Oystercatchers on the beach, there are lots of big rock islands separated from the island which are perfect for puffins and ganettes (although there were only a few when we visited) and we even saw some eagles on the hunt !

Very quaint, tiny little chapel accessed through a pretty garden. Worth a peek. Situated in Manor Village. Beautiful views of West coast and Guernsey.
