Nice beach, only reachable by bike or by foot. It is a 4 km walk through beautiful terrain, (dunes, woodlands, etc) to reach the beach from the nearest road.
Free parking, and after the walk you will find one of the best Beaches of North Holland, also nice "beach restaurant" open in season only, from 1 April till end of Sept.

The most interesting matter is the beautiful garden in the style of the 18th/17th century. This garden is worth to pay a visit. The garden is regularly maintained by a club of volonteers. You feel you are in the previous time of life.

Luchtoorlogmuseum Fort veldhuis

This museum has quite a lot of locally recovered World War II exhibits, ranging from aircraft engines & propellers, sections of aircraft and various weapons, etc.
They are all well documented with history and the details of where and when they were found and from what aircraft they originated from.
There is not really enough space available in the museum to show everything well, so unfortunately some of the exhibits are a bit crowded, but they still remain very interesting for the WWII enthusiast.
I recently visited the museum for the 2017 season opening day, which coinsided with having a collection of World War II Army vehicles (jeeps and trucks, etc.) that had assembled there as part of the local 'Liberation Day' celebrations (see photographs).
If you are a local history enthusiast or enjoy looking at recovered World War II aircraft parts and wreckage, then this museum is worth a visit. It needs a little freshening-up in parts, but it can still provide you with a very interesting couple of hours.

Beautiful golf course, a surprising tranquility. And only 25 minutes from Amsterdam, 15 minutes from Haarlem or Alkmaar.

The view reveals directly the character of the course: The Heemskerkse is a polder- park course with lots of greenery and water. Greenfee price is very reasonable.

The holes are pronounced long. But that with the many waters yet honest. We played the course several times. We enjoyed a good diner at the clubhouse for a good price. Friendly Staff and good hospitality.
