This peaceful, historic fortified church is surrounded by vineyards overlooking the pittoresque village of Hunawihr! Dedicated to Saint Jacques and a halt of one of the many paths to Compostelle, the church is also privy to many references to the local Alsace wine trade... beautiful grape stain glass windows and a one needle-grape inspired clock hand are worth the detour !

Loved my short time in this church. We spent time walking through the Marche de Noel and the place was crowded. It was so nice to find sanctuary in the church for a bit and to meditate on God’s blessings. It’s a great place to go to see amazing stained glass and architecture as well. The best part is the church still functions as a house of worship and prayer.

The Eglise des Dominicans is a beautiful church that was completed in 1346. Within is the beautiful ‘Virgin with the Rose Bush’. Entry is 2 euros, nothing at all to be able to read about the work and then sit quietly and soak in its beauty.
