What to do and see in Harrogate, England: The Best Tours

April 16, 2022 Enriqueta Cusson

Harrogate is also known as "The English Spa." For centuries, visitors have flocked to the mineral hot springs. Today, those springs still soothe the body while the placid RHS Harlow Carr Gardens and Yorkshire Dales national park stimulate the soul. Tea rooms, architecture, and art galleries are the main pastimes in this pleasant town.  With four rail stations for easy transport, travelers can board trains running between Harrogate and York, Leeds, Knaresborough, and London.

I booked the full-day private tour of Haworth & the Yorkshire Dales, and I was lucky to have Mark as the tour guide. He was professional, knowledgeable and he would make sure you have the best experience and that you enjoy the trip. I never felt rushed or that I am missing on something. I applause BOBH for the measures they took to be COVID secure; I never felt that I was risking my health or being unsafe. I highly recommend booking with them, and I am sure you would have a great experience as did I.

We decided to do the good tour on the last day of our break. We visited 5 places for our 5 course tour: starter, main, sweets, ice cream, cheese and biscuits with beer. Couldn’t fault any of the places. Food was delicious. It was a bit of a walk to the ice cream shop but well worth it. The owner was delightful, really interesting and very generous with the samples. Parkin Ice cream? Yes please. Our guide was friendly and knowledgable would definitely recommend

Fantastic evening tasting beers in some lovely pubs. The beer tour was hosted by Adam who captured the group well, while explaining how your favourite beers are made. I was really happy with the range of beers across the tour and will definitely be dropping by the pubs I discovered on the tour. ????

What a wonderful gift. We love to try out new foods so this was the perfect gift for us, who knew there were so many vegan options in Harrogate to choose from. The mix of eateries was great, all the food was delicious and it was great to find out about the restaurants origins. Our host was friendly and knowledgeable, we were the only guests on the tour which was nice as it felt really personable. Looking forward to returning to Harrogate to try out some of the places full menu.

Excellent day tour of Yorkshire Dales in comfortable (Covid-safe) minibus with friendly and knowledgable local guide Lee. Got to see so many places that would have been impossible without a car, lots of time to take photos, grab a coffee and have a walk at multiple stops. Great National Park, stone walls, tales of castles and abbeys. Very peaceful and tranquil stops, waterfalls galore! Even a stop at the Wensleydale Creamery to buy local cheese and have a relaxing bite to eat. We even managed a quick stop in the 3rd smallest city in the UK, Ripon, with its medieval cathedral. Breathtaking scenery and the highlight of our week's holiday in York.

Our flight was piloted by Chris. He was very informative and polite and took us over the Isle of White, the beach, Weymouth. The actual experience was AMAZING!! Everywhere we went he told us about it and the experience itself was amazing. I highly recommend this as it is definitely an experience you will never forget, one reason for that is that he handed me the controls and I FLEW THE PLANE! Everything was nice, chilled, very safe and easy. Overall, couldn't have been better ????
