What to do and see in Harrogate, England: The Best Shopping

June 19, 2021 Chanda Heide

Harrogate is also known as "The English Spa." For centuries, visitors have flocked to the mineral hot springs. Today, those springs still soothe the body while the placid RHS Harlow Carr Gardens and Yorkshire Dales national park stimulate the soul. Tea rooms, architecture, and art galleries are the main pastimes in this pleasant town.  With four rail stations for easy transport, travelers can board trains running between Harrogate and York, Leeds, Knaresborough, and London.

Large, award winning, Vintage and Retro store in the centre of Harrogate store with attached Cafe Bar and Record Shop.

Visited with the wife and kids on a trip to Harrogate. What a great discovery in a sea of the chain stores. The vintage shop on the ground floor is a delight of genuine retro cool, and smells just as good. Style by the mile. On the upper floor the record shop is ace! Some top quality vinyl , could have spent hours in there just thumbing through the records, and chatting to the lads! The cafe bar was a great place to hang out, great pizza, some nice tunage which was possibly a little too loud though. Will definately visit again next time we're in town!

We did the master distiller experience, such a great day learning about your own gin palette to then go on and make your own! Was able to try slingsby gin throughout the experience, the Christmas gin was delicious. Would recommend this to all gin lovers

Oh my gosh, so yesterday we made the thai rendang curry. Was sceptical how it would work, as the instructions seemed too simple? But It has to be one of the best I’ve ever made and tasted. So glad we found this place, will definitely be using the mail order from now on.

My friend had previously visited Bijouled a few years ago and when we both decided on a 4 night break in Harrogate this was our first shopping stop! An absolute joy to visit this magical shop. If you love individuality in your jewellery and assessories you must pay a visit or browse online. We had such a lovely experience making our purchases. Montpellier Mews Antiques Market

Reviewed By JohnHodderHobbit - Clitheroe, United Kingdom

We were searching for small silver items and, after entering this indoor "market", discovered that this emporium houses independent dealers who have businesses on the premises. Lots of interesting variety and specialists. We found our items and were pleasantly surprised at both the quality and the price. OK, we did a little haggling which is almost a requirement ! The place is more welcoming than the famous name saleroom and showcase shops in this part of central Harrogate and, in our opinion, affordable if, perhaps, looking for a gift or souvenir. The Montpellier Quarter is a "must visit" area in the town and is famous for the range of art and antiques available for sale. It is surrounded by cafes, bars and restaurants too. Well worth a visit to browse.
