Hanno Matsuri

A major festival of Hanno City that takes place mainly in the town areas of Hanno and is held on the first Saturday and Sunday of November every year. The first day is the eve of the event and festival floats and floorless dance floats parade through the town. As night falls you can see the fantastic sight of the floorless dance floats stalls lit by lanterns. It should be noted that, as the name suggests, there is literally no floor in these floats, and the people providing musical accompaniment play while walking along inside the floats. The second day is the main festival, and in the evening there is an appearance by a large drum atop a portable shrine.
