Corris Mine Explorers

Corris Mine Explorers is now closed until a time when it is safe for us to reopen and to run our award winning underground trips once again. Officially the Best Experience in Mid Wales 2019 / 20. Delve around the secret underground world of a Welsh slate mine with one of Wales' top Mine Explorers; abandoned and forgotten yet full of relics, stories & adventure. Our trips take you into parts of the mine, hand-dug and worked by Victorian miners in 1836 and areas worked up until the 1970s when the mine closed. As the door shut for the very last time a virtual time capsule was left behind which you can now explore. After years of research, our top Mine Guides will share stories of mining life as you explore the underground with some climbing and scrambling if you wish (these parts of the trip are optional). Our trips run with a small group of explorers which means that we can largely tailor make them to suit your wishes, interests and abilities. Discover, explore and have lots of fun.

Snowdonia Riding Stables

Had an amazing time! I’m an absolute novice whilst my partner has had some previous experience riding. I was super nervous but the instructors where fantastic and really helpful with tips and advice for when my horse (Jaycob) thought he could stop for a grass snack at any given opportunity haha. I felt more confident as the time went on! It really exceeded my expectations and we would definitely do it again! Highly recommend for anyone wanting a different experience whilst visiting wales :)

Cregennan Lakes

We were driving along the A493 coast road on the west near here and saw the sign so thought we would take a look. I must warn you it is quite a hair raising drive from this side! Step, narrow, with few passing places, hair pin bends and a crest you drive over where the angle is so high you momentarily cannot see if there is anything the other side! Plus you will need to own farm gates as you go along, don't feel like we initially did that you are going the wrong way! We were amazed when we finally got there to see so many vehicles in the car park. We left from the other exit which takes you towards Dolgellau and this is a much easier route. Views here are stunning and we climbed up the big rocky hill near here to get a view looking down which was well worth it, despite winds that felt like they would knock us off

You haven’t lived until you’ve slept on a portaledge on a cliff face in beautiful Wales! This experience was run by Sam - our awesome guide and one of the nicest blokes we’ve met - for my girlfriends birthday. After we arrived at the set up spot, we were able to do some rock climbing (neither of us experienced, so totally fine for beginners) and had a walk round the area which was beautiful. We were them lowered down to our ‘bed’ and fell asleep to the sound of the waves below. Whilst it’s a terrifying concept, you feel weirdly safe after a few mins and Sam showed us how it was all secured so you know how it works. Can’t recommend highly enough for a crazy, unique experience!

We came here as a family of adults back in September☺️ Paul made my booking, answered all my questions and put me at ease!!! An easy and efficient process. We booked segways, and you have to arrive around 15 mins before to fill in paperwork and then the fun begins???? Very covid safe.. but despite coronavirus, this was one of the highlights of our holiday☺️ stepping onto the Segway for the first time was a little scary, but Davs was fun, positive, and reassuring and gave us the best possible experience!! Our mum was the most nervous but actually turned out to be the best at it☺️ We formed a team of the ‘curly wurlys’ and played games against another group. It was fantastic!!!!!!! Honestly can’t recommend this place enough, if only we lived closer we would definitely come back again!! Would recommend this experience to everyone.. despite having been home from our holiday for a while, we’re still talking about our Segway experience???? Thank you so much guys☺️
