The Spanish Language School was created in 1996 by a few Spanish teachers who taught Spanish to Peace Corps Volunteers. They decided to open a Spanish language school and Guatemalan culture with tourists from all over the world. "MI CASA ES TU CASA" is the vision that the Unión Spanish School has had 24 years!

Extreme Climber is a trip agency that has the best ideas to provide you different ways to discover Guatemala. We can give you an amazing experience on our guided hiking trips, in volcanoes such as Acatenango and Pacaya, or around Antigua Guatemala to explore the surroundings. Also, if you rather another outdoors/indoors activities, like trail running, biking session and trips that can be enjoyed by the whole family. For indoors, the best way to keep training in the city is our gym, Casa Boulder. Casa Boulder is one of our projects as a climbing gym and social space where you can train rock climbing. We are the only house in Central America that has been modified to be a climber’s dream playground! Come visit us if you're looking to learn how to climb, for a workout or just as a place to hang out. We organize climbing trips for all levels. For independent climbers looking to connect with locals, this should be your first stop. We can also help with accomodation and transport.
Mario was booked through our travel agent Martsam travel and he was a fantastic guide to show us up. Mario is incredible friendly, accommodating, knowledgable about the volcano as well as the nature and region around it, he's simply a lot of fun to be with and made the trip a very exciting and special experience for my girlfriend and me. Especially for the last bit, I would recommend to wear actual hiking shoes, as you will walk on lava stone so you make sure your ankles are firm, then it will be much easier than just with hiking shoes. Going up closer to the cone and actually seeing hot red lava is super exciting. Everything else, Mario took care of, he also prepared a nice picnic for us before we went down again and his home baked banana bread was just yummy. Thank you very much, Marco, we hope to see you again!

At TEIXCHEL we do not only weave because it sustains us economically, but we weave because it is our culture. The knowledge of why we as Maya weave and what it means has diminished dramatically and we hope, through our work, to revive the culture and tradition of weaving with every product we create and sell to you! Our association consists of women weavers from San Pedro La Laguna, Guatemala.
