Hoggs Falls

Reviewed By BarbG2017

Hoggs Falls loop (connected to the Bruce Trail) is a fantastic moderate hike around 5.7km. The Falls are beautiful but the rest of the trail provides a variety of interesting terrain. We did the hike in mid-October so the foliage was exceptional but we will definitely come back again in late Spring. It is very hilly and the damp leaves made some areas slippery and some parts of the trail were boggy - to be expected at this point in the Autumn - so good hiking shoes are a must. As much as my husband & I enjoyed the walk, our Golden, Max, enjoyed it ten times more! It is a great hike and worth driving out of your way to do.

We had detoured off the main County Road and driven through the hamlet of Feversham a week or so ago. When leaving we saw the sign for the Home Accents Emporium and The Tippy Canoe Store was part of it. My wife and I are buying and supporting local this year and thought a return visit should be the order of the day. We weren't disappointed. Home accents for sure, but so much more. Obviously, with Christmas just around the corner, the store had Christmas stuff galore. And who doesn't love Christmas decorations and things to spruce your home up for the holiday season. We found a great Christmas mug for our daughter that we will ship out to Atlantic Canada. In addition, we also got a pair of Red Northern Cardinal salt and pepper decorations for ourselves. The gentleman at the store was pleasant and made sure we had bubble wrap to ensure the mug shipped to our daughter in one piece. One highlight for us was the resident dog behind the counter. Friendly and a joy to scratch his/her head, if only for a few minutes. Shopping experiences like this one made our day. They had well-placed signage and hand sanitizer as part of their COVID protocols, including wearing of masks by both staff and customers. It is well worth the time to check the store out. We drove over an hour and it was worth every kilometer.
