About €9 each return from Gialos - we went to Asia Marina (brilliant taverna there) - taxi went at 10am and then again 11-12. There were two return options from our beach 15.15 & 17.15 so you can't exactly hop on and off to visit other beaches. Maybe this is the case in the height of the season. Taxi boat was on time and was the main carrier by the looks of it. There was another option at Gialos port but we didn't use it.

We are experts on marine transportation for people from Kiotari I, Kiotari II and Lardos towards Lindos as a destination. Following a few hours stay in Lindos, we travel back to Lardos, Kiotari II and finally to Kiotari I. Lindosbyboat has been operating successfully for 20 years already offering top quality on marine transportation.
Took the fast boat 1 hour crossing to Lindos on Wednesday to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The booking and organisation was very good. Well organised for our safety, and social distances. Four hours spent in Lindos, enough time for a drink, something to eat and a spot of shopping. The crew were friendly, enjoyable experience.

The island welcomes a new boat line connecting the picturesque town of Lixouri with the capital of Argostoli. Strategically positioned at the port of Lixouri, the main offices of Vikedios Damodos offer immediate access to any information or service a traveler might need. The modern, luxury and efficiently operated vessel makes transit a breeze and offer an enhanced passenger experience with its l
We had driven from Argostoli to Lixouri several times on visits to Kefalonia. Lixouri has some great harbour front restaurants that we often stopped at for coffee or lunch. This time we decided that the ferry trip would add a different aspect to the holiday but knew that aside from the restaurants there would not be much to occupy us in Lixouri. The simple answer was to take the 9.45 ferry (they run every 30 minutes and cost less than 6 Euros for two people each way) have breakfast on Lixouri quayside and return an hour later. Great views from the very clean ferry, excellent breakfast and back by 11.15 for shopping in Argostoli. Great morning.

Absolutely brilliant ride in both directions which is quite hair-raising to be honest. At 6 euros per person per trip I think it represents great value as it saves your legs and, more importantly, removes the temptation to ride the poor donkeys. We were lucky that we arrived in Fira on a day when only 2 cruise ships were anchored up so the queues were almost non-existannt. In fact the whole town was fairly quiet. The views are great in both directions and the trip down somehow seems steeper and a little scarier than the trip up. The port itself is probably only worthy of a short visit unless you are boarding a vessel of some description and we just had a quick look round, bought a smoothie at a cafe and went back up. It's worth it just to say you've done it.

The Katakolon train, familiar to the international visitors that arrive in the area by cruise boats, offers a unique way to visit ancient Olympia. Several daily 45-minute trips from Katakolo to Olympia are scheduled every day. The train station is located in the center of Olympia, only five minutes away from the museum and the archaeological site.
