The Astrikas Estate organic olive groves are located in the small village of Astrikas, within the PDO (Protected Denomination of Origin) area of Kolymbari in northwestern Crete.Biolea specializes in artisan production of organic olive oil, stone milled and cold pressed. The company's organic olive oil is exclusively estate-produced and bottled.The Astrikas Estate is open to visitors; we offer a tour free of charge to anyone who is interested to learn about the production method of olive oil. Visitors have the opportunity to see three generations of olive oil production.The old olive mill that was run with a donkey , a mill that was run on a diesel machine and of course the machinery that our family is using now. Visitors can also taste and buy olive oil from our family's production.All visitors have a guided tour and a taste of the olive oil and raki free of charge. The Paraschakis Family Olive Oil Factory is open every day from 9:00 to 18:00 except Sunday. From the 5th of April to the 10th of April 2019 we will be closed.

As a Greek Registered non for profit charity Sanctuary we rescue old, unwanted and abandoned donkeys from Crete and other Greek Islands. On average we have about 25 donkeys... Visitors are welcome to come and visit, you may mingle with the donkeys, groom, stroke, cuddle and get the know these beautiful affectionate and intelligent animals. Children may enter under supervision of an adult. We do not have an entry charge but have a small shop selling interesting donkey items which you are welcome to buy and/or leave a donation to help us feed and care for these beautiful creatures. We do not allow smoking at the sanctuary in case of fire risk and do not have toilet facilities due to water shortages. Please note that we are closed during the winter months from November until April, but if you wish to visit please call us or send a message on FB and we can arrange a time.

Hope was our first rescue in January 2004, Dusty the second. Since then over 450 donkeys have been taken into our refuge here in Corfu. As a refuge we aim to give: the old a safe and happy retirement; the sick a chance of cure; the injured the chance of recovery; the abused the chance of regaining trust and hope and the abandoned the feeling of security again. Walk Through a Honeybee Hive with a Local Beekeeping Expert. Don a suit and head into an apiary, where you’ll see an open hive and hold a frame of live bees; conclude your visit with honey tastes. Weather permit it !!!

I will guide you through my private collection, where I'll show you the secrets of honey production and other agricultural products from both past and present.
