Wonderful knowledge and service by the staff. Happy to accommodate and explain the process and history of each wine. Cheese platter to enjoy and the scenery and setting is just beautiful. The wines are just superb, even if you aren’t the biggest wine person. The explanations to accompany the tastings is fantastic. Definitely a must visit when in the area.

A beautiful property and some great wines including a very nice sparkling shiraz and an amazing "Blacksmith's Shiraz Cabernet". The staff are very friendly and helpful but beware they are very persuasive (or maybe we are) since we left with a lot more wine than planned! Fun visit and recommended

Some friends came up from Sydney for a special occasion and we chose to go to Leogate for Lunch - what a great choice!! Our table was by a large window, looking out over lawns and the vineyard, with ducks wandering about and kangaroos in sight as well on the neat lawns. From the time we were seated the excellent service began, with water offered initially then the menus and drinks all seamless and unobtrusive. When our food arrived it all lived up to our expectations and was picturesque, tasty and filling, then the desserts--- O Boy! they were worth the visit in themselves, each of us received a work of art as well as a fantastic, flavourfull and generous platefull. Not cheap but certainly worth the money for a great lunch experience in wonderful surroundings.

My favourite place to vist in the Hunter Valley. The wine is delicious and from now on I will need a constant supply of that amazing chocolate liqueur in my fridge. The staff are so friendly and down to earth - the recommendations they sent through after I made a cellar door booking was a really nice touch as well. Every other cellar door visit in the Hunter Valley was disappointing compared to this one.

Still looks identical to my previous visit over 10 years ago and they certainly maintain their humble persona. Excellent iconic wines and my only disappointment was they ran low on stock of some of the good ones due to increased demand with COVID. I went with friends who were members so I did experience a premium tasting experience which was lovely.

Tamburlaine Organic Wines

Tamburlaine was established in 1966. In 1985 the Hunter winery was purchased by a small group of friends and relatives led by Managing Director and Chief Winemaker, Mark Davidson. Mark has built his long-term winemaking philosophy around Contemporary Organic practices in the vineyard and the winery. After challenging years of research and development, we have become one of Australia’s largest producers of organic wines with vineyards in the Hunter Valley and Orange region. Named after Christopher Marlowe's famous play and character ‘Tamburlaine the Great’, we work to lead the way with our Contemporary Organics vision, successfully producing award-winning organic, vegan-friendly, low sulphur and no added sulphur wines.

We weren’t too sure what to expect trying organic wine though we absolutely loved it! Our host Tom was awesome, he made the experience even better as he’s very knowledgeable and we had a lot of laughs. The wine is amazing and it’s such a beautiful location... will definitely visit again next time we go to the Hunter Valley!
