Glenrothes ( listen (help·info); /ɡlɛnˈrɒθɪs/, glen-ROTH-iss; Scottish Gaelic: Gleann Ràthais) is a town situated in the heart of Fife, in east-central Scotland. It is located approximately 30 miles (48 km) from both Edinburgh, which lies to the south and Dundee to the north. The town had a population of 39,277 in 2011 as recorded by the census, making it the third largest settlement in Fife and the 18th most populous settlement in Scotland. The name Glenrothes comes from its historical link with the Earl of Rothes who owned much of the land upon which the new town has been built; "Glen" (Scottish for valley) was added to the name to avoid confusion with Rothes in Moray and in recognition that the town lies in a river valley. The motto of Glenrothes is "Ex terra vis", meaning "From the earth strength", which dates back to the founding of the town.

Always wanted to try an escape room and the one at Rothes Halls was perfect. Team of 7, some seasoned ‘players’, some first timers, ages from 19 to 80+... and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Gamesmaster was fabulous, puzzles were of varying degrees of cryptic and we just had a ball. Reasonably priced, would definitely go again... and can not wait for another room set-up. Can not recommend highly enough.

Always a good atmosphere here, small independent cinema that's very reasonably priced. Great choice of drinks and snacks served by friendly staff.

First time visit ,I was quite impressed ,what a lovely park this is . .With many different walks ,a duck pond and statues all over the place also the spectacular River Leven Suspension Bridge . There is also a skate board park as well .The river walks are awash with the autumn colours and a carpet of gold is spread in front of you
