On the approach along the base of the mountain, you may note large sealed tunnel entrances, these tunnels were made and used by the Japanese during WWII. If with a local person, like me, you can have a leisurely climb up the side starting at a point about 1.5km away, at the crest are many pine trees and the local people have areas for stretching and exercise. The site is a wonderful cultural and religious place with active prayer and incense offerings. The art along the stone stairway down is worth seeing, but I am glad we took a different root up. Open and collecting a small maintenance fee from 7:30-4pm. There is a lot to see even if you do not go in the paid entry area.

这里是国家级木公园，自然植被是很多的，平时生活在闹市的人们，在小假期不防来此玩一玩，走在小路上，两面有树有草，抬头蓝天云，很惬意。

This is not for your typical tourist trip to Fushun. Anyways, the staff is very attentive to sensitivity and will not discuss any bad stories about the site if there are any. If you watched the Last Emperor movie by Bernardo Bertolucci this is the filmed and historical site where the "last emperor" of China was imprisoned. They explain how good the last emperor was treated and I believe he somehow really was considering he was a prisoner.
Good place to go to reflect about a time of a very tormented Chinese history. I suggest you do some research about its history before you visit although the staff will be well trained and proficient.

Committed by the Imperial Japanese forces, against innocent men, women and children. The reasons were greed for the valuable coal, wood, food resources of northeast China, and I believe a feeling of vast superiority over all other Asians of the Japanese of the time! This is real history, and all need to view and remember history so we avoid the same mistakes, crimes, inhuman acts of the past. I now have a much clearer understanding of why the average Chinese citizen today has less than warm feelings for the Japanese nation. In 1932, Japanese Imperial Forces in Fushun committed this tragedy. More than 3,000 innocent people were murdered, and this is the worst atrocity of its kind in WWII, other than the massacre in [rape of] Nanking. The building structure, displays and historical artifacts are first class. I am happy to note that Japanese representatives have visited and installed a black marble marker, I presume making an apology. I highly recommend this place, but not for children under the age of twelve

中华寺位于抚顺县拉古乡，分为中华寺和万佛塔两个主要的部分，中华寺原寺建于唐代，后被焚毁，建国后残余的寺舍一直做为疗教院。后被沈阳富商看中，投巨资重建。重建的中华寺保持了原有的唐代风格，与其它寺庙的风格截然不同，远观颇有些日本京都建筑的风彩，因为日本建筑多延袭了唐代建筑的风彩。中华寺还有一个特别之处就是佛道合一，由正门入，左手边入道观，右手边入佛寺，相映成趣。万佛塔则是供奉巨佛和先灵的地方。中华寺前为景观，后实为公墓，而万佛塔则是寄放供养先人的地方，收费不扉。中华寺对于喜欢旅游者不妨一去，对于佛教道教徒自然不必说了，但只是该寺一直人气较差，香火不盛。
另，去中华寺可在市内乘拉古方向的小客车，到中华寺下车。中华寺免费开放，不收门票。

I was fortunate to have local friends as tour guides and this was one of our stops. There is actually an Eastern mine and Western mine, and a tall coal building tower in between. The train engines used to remove the coal are electric and the amount of track to the bottom is awesome.

关山湖位于抚顺县救兵乡，这实际上是一处水库，因其形状奇特，加之有多个小丘陵被水库淹没后，露出多个小山头，形成一种独特风景，所以又称北方千岛湖，但实话说风景还较为一般，而且由于此地开发极有限，所以没有什么旅游资源。垂钓爱好者可以来此钓鱼。

仔细看了介绍，张作霖根本没来过。虽然打赏了银圆。赵四（不是赵四儿，也不是老四）小姐来过。是当时铁路局的一个马屁精建的。现在贵了铁道部。真是……不过这里游人稀少，是一栋保持很完好的具有明显当时建筑风格的一栋古建筑。有空的话，或者路过的话还是值得看看的。（我是泡完温泉老婆还没出来的时候跟老丈人误打误撞游览的）对了，院里有老棵树。上面有很多许愿绳。
