I did a 4-week combination program at Coeur de France and I was very impressed with the teaching methodology, diversity of learning opportunities (classroom and social), and warmth and friendliness of the professors and other staff. I am a working adult taking a brief career sabbatical--I decided to invest in my language skills and I am very happy with the improvements I made in both my grammar knowledge of French and my speaking skills. This experience allowed me to meet some incredible people with common interests, as well as learn more about the Loire valley, wine making, French culture and more! I think this is a terrific program for people of all ages and language levels. I am hoping to go back for another few weeks!

This was our second visit/tour with Caro and this time we chose to visit her winery itself, and do the half day tour/tasting/lunch pairing. We were a group of 9 in our family and there was another group of four that we were pared up with. It was an excellent visit, with the vineyard tour and Biodynamic discussion being the most interesting and informative. If you know anything about the Feely approach it is all about a natural and sustainable way of growing grapes and making wine. The good thing about Caro's guidance on the subject is that she is not only passivate about this approach, but is also very knowledgable, and has a very wise and realistic take on the challenges, realities and benefits. She takes some of the mystery out of the Biodynamic approach, and a visit to her vineyard vs others we have been to will likely make you a biodynamic fan (we are rapidly moving to a place where as big wine fans, buyers and consumers we are increasingly focused on the way the grapes were grown, and are trying to shift to all our purchases being at least organic and wherever we can biodynamic.) And her wines are good quality and well priced in our view. The tasting itself was good, and we chose to try out the Michelin food paring that she has recently introduced which was also good. Overall, if you are in the area, want a deeper dive into wine - and in particular the future of grape growing - and prefer an english speaking but now very experienced France-based guide, Caro and a Chateau Feely visit is a great choice.

Excellent ski school for kids beginners (6-11 yo) our 8 year old was a Wizard at skiing snowplough after first day and by end of the week was Gobbling up Green runs and Bombing down Blues. The team of Huw and Niall were excellent and there was a perfect balance between fun and learning - and of course plenty of pit stops for chocolate Chaud! The group of 5 kids named themselves Team Dog by 3rd day as they all had Wolf / Dog helmet covers and looked super cute. I highly recommend these guys for kids - just look at the levels of ability for kids ski schools (White Wizards to Red Rippers to Black Bandits) and you’ll see these guys understand how to appeal to kids. My boy will be confident enough next time to join the Blue Bombers! Thanks all at Snowlimits

I recently went to a 3 hour cooking class at L’Atelier Cuisine de Mathilde and I cannot recommend the experience enough. Mathilde herself is really lovely and welcoming, and spoke both French and English with me, because I am not yet fluent in French. At the class, we made prawn raviolis, chicken forestière and lemon meringue tart- which is my favourite dessert! The recipes themselves were not too hard to follow and I am confident that I would be able to recreate them at home. I especially enjoyed making and piping meringue onto the lemon tarts, because I had never made meringue before. Mathilde even gave us a blow torch to slightly brown the meringue. After having made the food, we all ate it together as a group and it was really enjoyable eating and speaking to such a varied group of people. If you are interested in a cooking class in Aix, definitely come here.
