Micropub with brewery; Opening for take away and outdoor service from Friday 16th April 15:00 - 21:00. Planning to open Friday to Sunday for the next few weeks.
We going to spend the weekend with our friends who live in Ainsdale. They took us on a fabulous walk through the pinewood forests and along the beach at Formby. We ended up at the Beer Station and had some exciting fabulous beers. The stout was absolutely sublime The beer was simply delicious. All from local breweries , as well as the micro brewery on site The Rioja was a triumph. We had lots of lovely snacks and thoroughly recommend the local chilli flavoured ones We had a very tired whippet with us , who was made to feel very welcome. The landlord is a very welcoming chap who knows his stuff about beer It’s opposite the station and also a great fish and chip shop. Very close to some fantastic walks. What a perfect place for a perfect pint ! Unfussy, warm, no music or TV screens. It does what it says on the tin. It’s a beer station!

Beautiful and vast stretch of sandy beach north of the city. There are lovely forested walks through a red squirrel reserve along with one of the country's most scientifically important dune collections. A great escape from the city and a good place to let children run off some energy. Car parking fee applies.
After finding the main car park completely full we were directed to an alternative at the other end of the beach. From here we had a most enjoyable walk across the sand dunes to the beach, where we tuned north and strolled for half an hour watching the ships out to sea and the aircraft from the Southport Airshow heading home after completing their slot at the show. Turning inland we walked almost to Victoria Road car park before turning South to wend our way back to our car, completely shattered but delightfully happy

Plenty of space to get out enjoy nature and fresh air during Covid restrictions. Felt exhilarated after climbing up the dunes. Ideal for dogs to have a good run on the beach and in the sea. Car park looks to have reduced capacity to help with social distancing. Toilets were open. Had the most delicious cappuccino from a kiosk and resisted the temptation of the sausage butties on offer. Remarkable is the lack of litter.
