Whilst walking around in Alesund and we visited the statue of this Norwegian World War 2 hero, who was born in Alesund in 1919. He led the six-man Operation Gunnerside team during the heavy water sabotage action. The statue is in the Town Square.

Anthony Gormley´s famous iron statues look you straight in the eye when you least expect them to be there. They are truly beautiful. Stavanger would not be the same without them.
