Rollacity

I booked my daughters 13th birthday party here for a Friday eve when it is teen disco night, I booked the basic party which just reserved an area for the kids to come back to for drinks. Rollacity staff were, polite and attentive, DJ happy for requests for music, couple of shout outs to birthday girl (inc Happy Birthday song) and he played some games which everyone joined in with. Party price is reasonable as you could skate from 7pm til 10-30 and place was not packed out. Def would go back and def recommend! Only downside as per prev comments toilets are upstairs?!

Bounce Village

My grandson loves this place. The young staff are friendly and accommodating and engage with him in a fun way. The seating and coffee shop are in a great position and the food and drinks are reasonable. I recommend it especially for younger children. He is nearly 6.

The Golden Lion

I first reviewed this pub back in 2017, and I was a regular visitor before then and have been a regular since. The place has not changed much over the year but my views remain the same that if you are looking for an old school traditional pub with a good selection of well kept real ales, this is the place to visit in Rochford. Not a glamorous pub and the internal decor is showing its age. However, the well kept beer and the small courtyard garden is a nice place to sit on a summers afternoon make up for this.

The Athenaeum Club

Really nice, calm atmosphere. Plenty of light and space to relax and the spa facilities are excellent. The entire place was spotless and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Seemed extremely Covid aware and we felt safe. I had a wonderful facial and Indian head massage with Miranda who was both skilful and friendly. Breakfast could be improved a little - only toast, one flavour of jam or marmalade was included in our package. This was a little underwhelming, but didn’t detract from the experience as the rest of the day was excellent. We’ll be back.

We held my son's 6th birthday party at Monkey Bizness today, and it was fantastic! We went for the early risers package, which was great value (£150) and lasted 2 hours. As part of the package, we could have up to 50 children, and included all activities (soft play, skating rink and climbing wall). We had sole use of the entire venue for the first 30 minutes of the party, which was nice as we were able to get settled before anyone else could come in. This was my first time at Monkey Bizness, and I was very impressed. It's huge and has something for all ages. Our 1 year old daughter loved the sensory room, and the birthday boy loved everything else! The cleanliness was great (I had several people comment on how clean it was), and its set out really well. I've read other reviews saying that the security is lacking, and that kids can get out of the gates. That certainly wasn't the case today, as the gates have a magnetic lock and need a member of staff at the desk to open it (maybe this is new), so I felt the kids were very safe. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful, and regularly came to check that we were ok. Summer was fabulous! She was on hand during the whole party and couldn't have done enough to make sure everyone had a good time. She was great with the kids to, and really got them going when it was time to sing happy birthday. Summer took the cake and the boxes for it that we provided, and cut it up for us (this was a huge help considering we had 50 cake boxes to fill)! Overall it was a fabulous morning, and I'd definitely hold another party here. Thanks to all the staff for making my son's birthday 'the best day ever' (his words)!
