We booked an excellent 'hawk walk' experience though Virgin for 3/4 hour. Just the two of us (in our 50s) and and the knowledgeable keeper Ross. We took a stroll to the falconry arena area then on to the public parkland/woods down the lane, with the harris hawk freely following by choice. We had the hawk land on our hand about 5 times each from the posts and trees. The experience includes entry to the falconry which is much bigger and better than we expected - loads of birds (including owls and vultures), and meerkats, skunks, racoons and ferrets - so spent the few hours there. All had great enclosures and were well looked after. Saw an impressive flight demonstration show in the arena too for about half an hour - not just the usual birds of prey - a little owl, kookaburra and cute running/jumping seriema too. The falconry centre is part of a big garden centre complex including a restaurant, cafe, farm shop, clothing, and a few outdoor farm animals (alpacas, rhea, goats) so you can make a whole day out. There's even a soft play, carousel and playground for young ones (though limited opening in Aug due to covid). Superb, and surpassed our expectations!!

Frilford Heath Golf Club

Yesterday we played the green course at this beautiful golf club. The overall impression is that it is very well cared for with exceptionally well manicured course, clubhouse surroundings and entrance. We thoroughly enjoyed the challenging course and found all staff to be very helpful and good at their jobs. The food, eaten outside at very comfortable rattan tables and chairs, was well presented and good quality. We had the use of buggies which were of high spec and smooth to use. We had the pleasure of meeting the club captain who welcomed us and chatted about the course, club and membership. We will definitely visit again should the opportunity arise.

We arrived at 12 o’clock and left just after 6pm. We didn’t manage to do everything we could have as we ran out of time......we had a fantastic day and still have loads left to do for a return visit. If you think it’s just a farm shop and PYO you will be sadly mistaken. Opposite the farm shop you have a massive play area with a super large Maize Maze (well 3 actually in varying difficulty) small ride on’s, large go carts, fairy trails, crazy golf, sandpits, unicorn trails, trampolines and so much more. It’s £7.50, you get a wristband and you can go in and out as you please for the whole day. If you want to upgrade you ticket you can, to a season ticket. If I had found this place at the start of the summer holidays I would have done it, it would have happily kept my two entertained throughout. We were given trail/activity books at the start...complete all the games as you go round and you get bubbles or another gift of your choice as you leave. We didn’t complete all games as there was too many fun things to do, they still have my two gift when we left tho. The staff were really helpful, the park was clean and it was very good value for money. We had a break in the middle for some lunch then returned at the end. They also have a play barn which is a giant soft play, you have to book a session on line. We did look at this but had no time. They have so much there I couldn’t possibly list everything, give it a go, I thoroughly recommend it x

We have Rose Cottage Cafe within Sprouts, serving a great selection of freshly prepared hot and cold food, drinks and snacks - great for re-fueling during your play session. Wow!!!!! Sprouts play barn is a separate business based within the Millets Farm grounds. This is honestly the BEST soft play I have come across with areas to suit all ages! Everything is themed around Farm life or real life, with different sound pads, quizzes & questions in various parts of the frame, there is also sensory based lights within the smaller baby/toddler area. Sprouts also has a imaginative play themed area made customary from soft play, there is a Post office & Stable yard to name just a few. There is a brand new (May 2019) outdoor play area attached which I haven’t personally visited yet but the photographs look amazing & if sprouts itself is anything to go by it will be just as good. Inside the main play barn there is also a comfy reading corner with a variety of books. The toilets are unisex but are both children, baby change & disabled friendly. There is a cafe inside ‘Rose cottage’ serving really good quality food for both Adults & Children with plenty of non junk healthy options to! There is a wonderful gift shop which you can view without using the play barn selling really good quality toys which is well worth a visit alone. Sprouts is available for party hire, hosts many themed events & activities & even has a baby weighing room which some may find useful, lots more information can be found on there website. Tips ~ Sprouts gets VERY busy wether it is the school holidays, weekends or just a normal week day, what ever the day I HIGHLY recommend pre booking your slot on there website in advance to avoid disappointment. The BEST soft play around just sadly VERY busy but this speaks for itself.
