The Easingwold War Memorial

Reviewed By nnmercman - Camberley, United Kingdom

Easingwold’s cenotaph is set in a small memorial garden near the old town hall and commemorates those from the town who Iost their lives in both World Wars (on different sides). Above the WW1 names are the words “In Proud and Loving Memory” and above those from WW2 “For Justice and Freedom”. Memorial and grounds are both well kept - a fitting tribute to those who gave their all.

Market Cross & Market House

Reviewed By johnhouston2 - Knaresborough, United Kingdom

Because of the layout of Easingwold, I suspect many people simply drive through on the unremarkable main road without stopping; yet if you turn off and get to the Market Place you find the beautiful and charming village centre. Easingwold is one of our favourite villages in the area and it is a pleasure to come and enjoy a coffee or a bit of lunch in one of the splendid cafes. And on Fridays you also have the little market to look around. So, today, it was a case of stocking up on biscuits, fruit and veg then having a couple of tasty samosas for lunch, followed by tea and coffee at an outside cafe table while watching the rest of the world slowly wander by. It’s a hard life at times!
