The capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Dusseldorf is a regional economic powerhouse straddling the banks of the Rhine River. Altstadt is not just Dusseldorf's lovely old town, but also where the city's nightlife is based and where Altbier, its native dark beer, is plentiful. Dusselforfians take their beer seriously. Königsallee (Ko to the locals), Dusseldorf's famous shopping street, has many high-end stores. And the Museum Kunst Palast has one of the Rhineland's best art collections.

No street reflects the city's well-to-do reputation more than the wide array of upscale stores and restaurants on Knigstrasse.

Looking for a quiet vacation on the Rhine (Rhein) River close to Dusseldorf, Kaiserswerth is a small village with an old fashioned flair. This village is great for walking, biking, and taking a boat ride on the Rhine river. This location accessible to Dusseldorf by boat or public transit. I had student taught in Kaiserswerth in the mid seventies, and my husband and I decided to take a Memory Tour and visit the village in September 2017. We found a fantastic Airbnb close to the Dusseldorf Airport and enjoyed our stay with a lovely German couple. We spent 5 days relaxing and enjoying restaurants, the green countryside, and people watching as we sat in a number of outdoor cafes. If you like the simple life & want to experience a taste of old Germany, plan a visit to Kaiserswerth.

The Aufguss sessions were very therapeutic. The lounge areas have relaxed lighting with very cosy furniture and blankets. Cleanliness standards are very high. I have been to Vabali in Berlin in Sept 2015. I found the Dusseldorf branch almost the same. Staff was friendly and talked English. The spa is little far from the city. I took a train from Dusseldorf Central to Erkrath. Then an Uber from Erkrath to Vabali spa cost me around 12 euros. Return Uber from Vabali to Dusseldorf Central cost me 24 Euros.
