Dunmore Town

Picturesque seafront village for visitors who want to get away from the more hectic touristy spots on the island.

Reviewed By CubanWaters - Vancouver, Canada

Golf carts are a-plenty here. It seems that they are the preferred mode of transportation on island and there ain't nothing wrong with that considering the town and island are not too large. Some history here, a bit of shopping and more than a few restaurant options. The famous beach is on the Atlantic side of town and the small streets are fun to explore on foot or on cart. Only drawback would be high pricing of high-end hotels, some restaurants.and the necessity to rent a beach umbrella for lack of beach shade. Definitely part of the Eleuthera experience though. Just a $5 each way &10 minute ferry ride each way to/fro the Mainland. The carts are well worth the rental fee.

Having 2 knee replacements and a hip replacement, I was nervous about doing yoga. Not only is Tamara knowledgeable in the movement of yoga, she knew just how to handle my “disabilities”. Not only did she push me to my fullest, she knew when I couldn’t/shouldn’t do certain moves. Can’t wait to go back in December to work with her. Not only is it great exercise, she makes it fun! She is also amazing doing water exercises! She works you but you are very grateful!

We were lucky enough to visit the gallery on the night it opened an art show of 3 artists who were at the Gallery. There are also some great local jewelers represented as well as great printed and woven cottons. Oh that we had some empty walls to fill with great paintings of Briland!

A and A Hidden Treasures

A and A Hidden Treasures is a local souvenir store that specializes in 100% authentically handmade Bahamian crafts. We make our products with straw, coconut and shell. There are souvenirs here at A and A Hidden Treasures for the entire family. We also specialize in custom designs.

This is now my favorite shop in Harbour Island. The ladies working here are warm and friendly but never pushy or unattentive, just really nice.Their souvenirs are the absolute best on the island with good craftsmanship and reasonable prices. A & A Hidden Treasures is a hidden treasure in itself since the shop is a bit off the beaten path for visitors that mostly remain on Bay St and in the main shopping area of Dunmore Town, but it's super-easy to find on Queen's Hwy and well-worth the short golf-cart trip.

Eleuthera Sailing Adventures

Enjoy a day of sailing, snorkeling, beachcombing, and relaxing on the beautiful waters near Harbour Island. Eventide is a classic CSY 44 sloop, available for day sails in the protected sound behind Harbour Island, Eleuthera. She comfortably accommodates up to 12 passengers and crew. Capt. Bob Knaus has chartered his sailboat in the Bahamas since 2003. Your comfort and safety are his chief concerns. His first mate Lucky is mostly interested in snacks... but he is a handsome dog!

Reviewed By tvandorpe - Washington

Captain Bob was great; knowledgeable, fun, easy going - knows his way around those waters. Easy to book - Bob responds quickly and is accommodating; we cruised around Man Island, snorkeled, had lunch, explored the island and cruised back. One of the best highlights of our trip! High recommend Captain Bob and his First Mate Lucky dog!

Harbourside setting to enjoy drinks, the sunset, the local scene with a relaxed vibe. Food is basic, but good. Beers are cold. Service is on “island time” and a touch unfriendly. Still, I would return to enjoy that sunset!Thank you so much for visiting!! I'm sorry you had a touch of unfriendly and when you do return we can make your experience a more fun, friendly and memorable one!
