Gangeshwar Temple

Reviewed By sanaser - Ludhiana

Gangeshwar Temple lies about three kilometers distance from Diu near the Fudam village. It is an ancient temple of Lord Shiva. The remarkable feature of the temple is five shiva lingas of different sizes that lies amidst the rocks on the sea shore. The shivlings are washed by the tidal waves of the sea. The temple is not so large but it has a wonderful scenic view of sea shore. It is said that the five shivalings are installed by the Pandavs during their anonymous stay in the jungle. We visited the temple in the evening on 14th February,2018.

Diu Fort

This fort was constructed by the Portuguese in 1535 A.D. and was one of their most important ones in Asia.

Reviewed By Schanbis - Ottawa, Canada

It's a great fort on the coast of Arabian Sea in Diu and a great attraction for the tourists. Given the fact that there are not too many places with historical importance in Diu, this Fort counts as the foremost for the history buffs. It's an excellent place to leisurely walk around and enjoy the sea breeze while visiting the spots of interest. It would be more interesting if the authority displayed the essential historical facts at more places than found within the Fort.

INS Kukhery is a submerin that was merged into the sea during Pakistan war. Here on a hilltop a replica of this submerin with some of its remnants is kept. But this particular point may boast of its scenic beauty. The hilltop actually slopes into the sea.The sunset from here is also most rewarding.

St. Paul's Church

On the fort side of Diu town is the island's last remaining fully-functional church, St Paul's. Completed in 1610, the church has an excellent baroque facade and a very fine selection of wooden panelling and furniture inside, including an extravagantly carved 400 year old pulpit.

Nagoa Beach

Reviewed By SUDIPTA2013 - New Delhi

After being in Somnath and Dwarka Beaches where virtually no water-sports were available, we were pleasantly surprised at Diu beach where we had a plethora of such varieties to choose from. The beach is beautiful. Keep at least about 3 hours' time in hand if you are enthusiastic about water sports and have kids/tin-aged boys/gals with you in the group. Starting from the simplest Family Boat, they offer a wide range of choice like banana boats, water-ski, Jet-ski, motor-boat, paragliding and what not? Prices range from Rs 200 to Rs 1200. Card payment option is there. Maintenance level of Boats was commendable. There are restaurants and small eateries just across the road. However, if the group is small and all members go together for certain wet rides like the banana Boat etc safe-keeping of cameras, mobiles and purses may become an issue.
