April 14, 2022 Terina Blouin

Perched on the hem of the Atlantic in Ireland's southwest, charming Dingle looks out over Dingle Bay to the Blasket Islands. Chock full of friendly pubs where live traditional music plays, the Irish-speaking area fills to the brim with tourists on weekends and through summer. Another regular visitor to Dingle's Gulf Stream-warmed waters is Fungi, the dolphin, the town's unofficial mascot. Popular tourist attractions include the beaches, Mount Brandon and Ballydavid and Ballyferriter villages.

Dingle Sea Safari

Since 2017 Dingle Sea Safari offers a genuinely unique tour which showcases the magnificent scenery and wildlife of the Dingle Peninsula from Dingle Bay right out to the Blasket Islands. A typical trip takes two and a half hours and can only be properly experienced on the high-class and fast moving vessels which we operate. The qualified and experienced skipper/guide on the vessel provides information on the history, geology and traditions and folklore of the various features along the route. Knowledge of the wonderful bird and sea life is also provided as encounters take place with puffins, gannets, razorbills, shearwaters, guillemots, seals, dolphins (including bottlenose, common and Risso’s) as well as seals, minke, humpback and fin whales along with Bluefin tuna. As a result of the comfort and speed of our vessels many of the above birds, cetaceans and fish can be encountered on a single trip and this has all contributed to the growing success of Dingle Sea Safari.
